Family friend was a CO for a while. They had a similar case with a convicted cho-mo, but that dude also needed a broom handle-ectomy.

I have a hard time watching the show because it's so real and it's hard finding entertainment in something that is just so reminiscent of work, so I'm going along at a snails pace and way behind.

My brother in law is an ER doctor. I asked him if he liked it, and was specifically wondering if he'd be into it, simply bc I figured it could be hard to watch after spending all day at work.

That may be what's up - they have focused a lot on people trying to be nice and have sympathy for the prisoner. New doc wanted him to stay longer, everyone wanting him out of handcuffs, trying to help him get his nutrition back on track, the blonde nurse taking away his pulse ox so he would have to be admitted and stay a few days. Either it's what you said and everyone that has been helping will feel gross knowing they helped a pedo, or it's just an ad to say good people are being treated poorly in prison, or what we are predicting - he goes crazy violent and hurts a doc or nurse when he should've been back at prison (hence the emphasis on keeping him cuffed.).

I hope they don't go this route. I'm still traumatized by seeing Lucy die due to a patient on ER when I was a kid. I'm sure Carter/Robby is still traumatized by that too.
