I love this addition to ST canon. Spoilers for the 2nd episode:

Q is Trelane's father.

'A Space Adventure Hour' was a very enjoyable hour of Star Trek. Loved the over-acting by Paul Wesley as Kirk in the captain's chair, loved the homage to prior malfunctioning holodeck episodes (The Big Goodbye, Elementary My Dear Data, and Ship In A Bottle), another reference that Spock is a descendent of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Uhura's speech, the attempted Riker maneuver during the blooper reel, and so much more.
Yes! This episode was a ton of fun! I like how they referenced the female first officer not working in the 60s, I took that to be a reference to Yarr from TNG not lasting one season as the security officer. Just my take.

I'm not sure I'm feeling the potential La'an Spock thing.
No matter what!

Not my theory (saw it on Reddit), but, there seems to be some thought that all of Spock's love interests in SNW are what pushes him to fully embrace his Vulcan side, as seen in TOS. Which leads some (I'm leaning towards it) to think that La'an doesn't survive the series. He suffers a ton of loss in love and chooses logic over emotion.

Well, she is wearing a red shirt.

Actually so is Ortegas and they are the two who don't need to make it. Everyone else is part of canon in TOS

I would love an episode where the SNW crew gets thrown into the future for just a few seconds and they run into the Picard crew from the last series. Old ass Riker, Picard, Worf, et al all just playing poker and BAM the bridge crew from SNW shows up and then leave after like 5-6 seconds.

I always loved the episodes of TNG and DS9 where they went back to TOS especially when Bashir thought he had to sleep with his grandmother otherwise he may not have been born

Last episode ( Holodeck) Ortegas actually looks pretty!

Season 3, episode 5. Through the Lens of Time

Spoiler alert: Star Trek canon remains constant. All Star Fleet security officers are morons and eventually get killed because of their stupidity.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

Latest episode was great. Felt horrible for the ensign sent on his first away mission just to get hit by a face hugger grenade combo.

Think the shows catching its stride, big time. Can't wait to see what's next!

And yes, LOVED Hegemony Part II, loved the Gorn depiction, especially in the full space suit

Another solid episode. "The Sehlat Who Ate It's Tail". I really really liked this episode. We are witnessing the genesis of James T Kirk.

Maybe it's just me but they seem to be reusing older scripts. The holodeck one in E4 was liberally lifted from TNG and this one was an update of the doomsday machine in TOS.

It's fine with me. TNG had several episodes that were based on TOS.

I really enjoyed this episode. It was great to see the original Enterprise crew working together. It also set up Scotty's 'miracle worker' legacy very well.

I'm somewhat torn. I liked seeing a reference to the future tech of the holodeck, but I'm not sure we really needed it. And I liked the Reaver (sorry, scavenger) ship, but Starfleet used to be baffled by BDOs (Big Dumb Objects) because they were so rare. Remember "The Immunity Syndrome"?
The all Vulcan crew of the Intrepid perished because (as Spock said) they couldn't comprehend what was killing them. So have Vulcans accidentally been retconned as the dumbest humanoid species in Starfleet? What was the big deal? Starfleet territory was apparently littered with planet killing BDOs. Look, here's another one.

Episode 7 "What is Starfleet?" Will be a love it or hate it episode, probably more hate than love.

And the Jikaru life form reminds me of the plight of the life form from the TNG pilot, Encounter at Farpoint.

I didn't care for it at all, had the same though you did about Farpoint.... just trade a jellyfish for a space moth. (Why would a creature use flapping wings in the vacuum of space?)
Still like the show, but this kind of presentation I hate in general

Man, tough crowd here. I enjoyed it and liked seeing another lspace life form as it's been awhile.

Anyone think the Gorns gone until the famous Kirk episode?
