I don't want to rain on anyone's parade about One Battle After Another. I'm always happy when people love movies and when movies do well. I'll just say this: if you are someone who exists inside the bubble of the Left, you will love it. Leo and Teyana best in show.

It is currently the highest-rated feature film of the year. pic.twitter.com/4rt0VD6LLS
If it holds, this will be the best Metacritic score for an American film since Moonlight. https://t.co/XLS5x3Fzwk

One Battle After Another: Paul Thomas Anderson hadn't set a movie in the present since Punch-Drunk Love, but he makes up for lost time by delivering one of the defining blockbusters of the 21st century. an absolutely generational home run.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER’ is the most radical movie released by a Hollywood studio in years, and one of the best movies you may ever watch.

Kind of amazed that a movie like ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER even exists in this day and age. We must be careful how we throw around the word "masterpiece," but let's just say this movie is the real deal, folks. Here's my review. https://t.co/pvwtErxKWJ

me and every single person you know that has seen it are all in agreement: #OneBattleAfterAnother is the only time you can watch a movie FIRST watch and say its a masterpiece, a generational film, best of the decade, defining american classic, etc etc and its all true pic.twitter.com/dG5IIErNbs

One Battle After Another reviews so far are maybe the most overwhelmingly positive for a movie this decade other than maybe Oppenheimer I need to see this movie yesterday

At this point I'm pretty confident One Battle After Another is taking Best Picture. It apparently being phenomenal is one thing, but add on the "PTA overdue" narrative and it's like. What can stop it

I laughed out loud throughout, it’s probably Anderson’s funniest movie, and by the end I was so deeply moved I was crying. Sean Penn will win an incredibly well-deserved Oscar. And the action! My god. I haven’t stopped thinking about the car chase and what the camera does.

Leonardo Di Caprio's new film ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER sounds like just the kind of tonic this country needs, a movie that will calm America down and keep radical leftists from continuing to try to kill conservatives. pic.twitter.com/edzyhXzIhN

The point I'll make with this post has nothing to do with whether the movie is actually divisive and over-the-top in its critique of the current political climate.
I simply think that the extremely, and they are extremely, favorable gushing reviews likely are to some degree owing only to the movie's theme (which does sound like a critique of the Trump goverrnment). The movie likely is good...PTA does make good movies after all. I'm just saying in the end it likely won't actually be the once in a generation masterpiece that these reviews are claiming.
Heck, the trailers still do nothing for me.
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to appear on THE TONIGHT SHOW next Tuesday for the first time since 2006, and he'll be joined by his ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER co-stars Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor for what the show is billing as a "special conversation" about the film

Warner Bros. currently has a record-setting seven movies in a row that have opened to over $40M this year each They're clearly trying to make it eight, but I'm afraid that streak is about to be broken.

Exactly. Well said. I feel like we've seen this basic conceit a thousand times before, but only in this day and age does it spark this kind of controversy.
‘ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER’ is officially certified fresh at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Please use basic reading comprehension skills and read my post again. I DID NOT say that what is happening currently is "out of control." I clearly said that, if left unchecked, given the fervor of certain politicians/individuals in that regard, there's a world in which it could eventually get out of control. And it sounds like this movie is simply a warning against that extremism. That's it and that's all.
