TBS / TNT has broken me of the idea that movies used to only come on TV randomly one time, and then that was it.

How long since you've been to a movie??? There's been ads for a decade or more at most theaters. Or preshow "entertainment segments that are creative ads". And previews too.
I don't understand why people get to movies early any more at all. Reserved seating makes tolerating all of that a choice.
At best I arrive at the theater on time. Like when the movie "starts". And that's only if I intend to get snacks. More often we have drinks and snacks stashed in pockets and her purse.
We moved since, but a few years ago we lived less than 10 minutes from our closest theater. We would typically leave our house at the designated showtime and be in our seats before it started.

It doesn't matter when the last time I went to a movie was or how long this has been going on. Erroneous! Eorrenous in both accounts!
I'm pissed about it and as an old man I reserve my right to be pissed about stuff that has been happening for a decade but has only recently become an issue for me.
I don't ever remember it being as overt as what I saw yesterday. ****ing ad after ad of consumption bull***** Show me some local business that I'd be down for. Or go back to the trivia stuff. That was fun.
It's a horrible ****ing experience and while I saw 2-3 trailers I'd go back and watch, I'm really not feeling it now.
This **** sucks.
The fact that yall are saying "oh it's been that way for years…"
**** guys, I dunno what to say other than - you don't have to live this way. Did y'all fight back at all? All you movie nerds need to get with the other actual nerds and organize. Take this **** down immediately.
What about restaurants? How long before I need to listen to 2-3 ads before I can place an order.
Grocery store. Want to do self-checkout? Not so fast mother****er, you need to hear from this personal injury lawyer first.
**** it. Let's ad-support everything. Free money, amirite?

Let someone suggest this for Kyle Field and I predict you'll see a long thread about it on TA. Heck, I'll probably be excoriated for the mere suggestion that this could happen to Kyle.

Wait until they figure out the airline model...commercials, higher prices for "premium" seats, 16" wide seats, minimize the turn time, cleaners starting down the aisle before the credits roll, etc...

That's already in the works. Not different sized seats, but seats with better views are reserved for their Stubs members.

Its a chicken and egg scenario at this point. Less patrons = less revenue = rising prices and alternative revenue streams = less patrons = and on and on.

This is simply how most theaters have to help pay the bills now.

I'll do that but you have to go watch 4 YouTube ads first.
Am I doing it right? That's the way it works, isn't it?

You haven't addressed the fact that you can show up later if you want and skip the ads.
