Earliest Block 3 launch is probably February of 2026 according to Ryan on NSF. He is guaranteeing it!

Just based on previous timelines.

I'm guessing they push for it and it slips to early 2026 sometime.

He's probably correct, but that generally assumes a pretty linear timeline. I'm curious if they try another booster catch on flight 11, and/or when OLT2 is going to be ready for operation.

Still pretty incredible. They just accelerate.

Yeah I think booster catch might depend on if they nail the profile on this try. My guess is they won't or they will and then they'll try a slightly different profile so they will land the next one in the ocean too.

Until they get to the next version of the boosters (and Raptor 3's) I am not sure the risk to the launch tower is worth another attempt. I'm rarely right though when it comes to guessing what SpaceX will do, so take that for what it is worth.

I don't think there's much point risking the OLM catching the current generation of boosters any longer. They know they can catch it so it makes more sense to get more extreme flight data from landing the boosters in the water.

Getting off SPI on a Sunday evening at 6:30 in the summer is a grind anyway. Can't imagine what it will be like after a launch at that time.

Pretty cool, they changed some shielding;

I also like the Texas silhouette.

8 starlink simulators were loaded into the ship yesterday. Not sure what time Elon's presentation will be tomorrow. F9 took an X-37 back up on the latter's 8th mission, successful insertion into orbit.

Nuclear tug, multiple LEO space stations, one geosynchronous space station, mars landing, human fly by of Venus, a bunch of stuff was planned post Apollo…if we'd given Nasa 4.5+ percent of GDP again.

I like his thought at the end; what if we had spent the money on this instead of $10 billion a year in Vietnam? The $1:$8 ratio for dollars spent on Apollo vs. job creation/economic benefit is a figure I hadn't heard before.
