Exactly. The anti-illegal and legal immigration sentiment is sweeping through Europe. Labour GETS this issue. Conservatives in Britain do not. The elections weren't even close. Brits want their country back. Merkel's Europe is dying. Let's hope the EU countries put it permanently to rest.

Do they? See my post above. New PM on day one immediately cancelled a plan to deport illegals.

Talks like Blair. Operates like Corbyn.

May work for them for a time. They will waste no time outlawing dissent and protecting their Islamo-Fascist voting base from well-earned criticism.

Quote:

There's also a risk that Labour will criminalise 'Islamophobia' as defined by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims in 2018. According to the APPG definition, which the Labour Party has accepted, Islamophobia is a 'type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness'. This means that any criticism of the religion of Islam could be deemed 'Islamophobic'.

Polls are about to close, and by all accounts, this will be a landslide for the Labour party. The British are sick and tired of the failed conservative ideology like tax cuts for the rich, and this will be a sweeping change for them. The magnitude of this defeat may wipe them out for good. Its really unprecedented.

A conservative party that goes half labour at the key moment is doomed to fail.

Britain is about to get royaly ****ed
Already are. Britain has been declining for decades. If it was a US state its Per Capita income would rank dead last well behind Mississippi. Fun fact as would most of the Canadian Provence with the exception of Alberta. If it weren't for billionaires living in London the numbers would be even worse. Google the numbers and for real fun compare the Birminghams- Bama vs England. Its a romp

The UK is a shell of its former self. Its military is a joke, as its economy. Sad what liberalism has done to the place. And here they are doubling down.

If conservatives have been in charge for over a decade, how is liberalism to blame for the state they're in?
The Brits haven't had real conservatives since Thatcher. The Brits have been screwed since 1945 when they dumped Churchill in favor of Labour and Attee sp?.

I see. So no one should be surprised England is where it's at today, even after 14 years of "conservatives" being in charge.

Would you liken them to the RINOS/establishment over here?

For those who pay close attention to England, where did the conservatives fail to the point that it caused this backlash? Was there a final straw of small thing after small or one big thing.

This goes back to the fact that you can't compare conservatives in Europe to conservatives here. Conservatives in Europe still believe in cradle to grave welfare and other policies that our US Democrats would wholly align with. It's just different.

Ironically, where Europe is now more conservative than our Democrats is on the topic of abortion (last time I looked) and gender crap for minors. Their health agencies have declared genders off limits for gender crap while our "health" orgs promote it.

Labour promised to get rid of the very costly and ineffective Rwanda policy, and instead establish a border force specifically to target the gangs leading the migrants to cross the channel in boats giving them the appropriate police powers to do so.

The Conservatives plan of Rwanda and simply not processing asylum claims for those who arrive illegally did nothing to stop people from crossing.

They had Liz Truss, who would be as MAGA as you can get if she was over here. She lasted about a month.

Complete and utter lies. Labour is more likely to reinstate free movement (which was required in the EU, which they still want to rejoin) than to do anything to crack down on illegal immigration. Make it legal, thus you eliminate illegal immigration. That's the liberal playbook.

You will see a world class health system after it gets properly funded.

The transportation system will be top notch after the railways are nationalized.

The UK will have a tough but compassionate immigration system dropping the number of migrants crossing the channel to next to nothing while opening up much safer routes for asylum seekers.

The tax system will be reformed to raise the proper amount of revenue coming from the people that have been coddled by a decade of Conservative government.

The great thing about the parliamentary system is there isn't a Senate filibuster and even nutcase Supreme Court decisions can be overturned by an act of parliament.

The UK will return to greatness.

The British are stupid.

They'll get exactly what they vote for, just like we've been getting the last 3.5 years.
Their stupidity goes way back. We wound up with America, the Aussies wound up with Australia, vast areas of land and natural resources, more isolated from attack/occupation due to a lot of water the bad guys have to cross, and they kept a tiny frozen rock right next to people who want to war with them.

lol. There's a 0% chance any of that happens and by time failure is obvious you'll have changed your name a dozen more times. Worse still you'll have moved on to some other absurd "more government will save us this time" position that is equally as nonsensical as this one so it'll be impossible to show you how badly you were wrong. Just wish people like you were willing to stick around and admit how wrong you are from time to time. It's really not hard to be an adult and celebrate your wins and losses.

Ah yes. UHC is such a great thing.

Quote:

It is not clear how Labour will fund its promises, given that it has also pledged to reduce government debt as a percentage of national output.

Some 6.3 million people in Britain are waiting for doctors' appointments, and it often takes hours or even days to be seen in emergency rooms. Britain's success in diagnosing cancer cases quickly is slipping behind its peers.

Yes, if just "fully fund" it things will get better. The left wing mantra...just keep throwing money at it. But wait....!

Quote:

More money isn't the only answer. Since 2019, for instance, the number of doctors and nurses has risen 20%, but the backlog of patients is still big.

Wes Streeting, Labour's new health secretary, before the election criticized the impulse of some civil servants to prioritize more money over reforms for efficiency, saying there was a "breathtaking complacency and groupthink amongst the health establishment who think that the first answer is always more money."

In the same breath, tax avoidance is the issue! But wait, they just said that more money is not the answer so how will stopping tax avoidance help?

Quote:

Starmer has argued that the health system can be made to run more efficientlyhe wants to ensure 40,000 more appointments every week during evenings and weekends, paid for by cracking down on tax avoidance.

What's the real solution? Privatization like anyone with a damn brain has known since the inception of economics.

Quote:

Labour will also work with private health companies to bring down the backlogs.

Likely not Hedge, who has openly admitted which account is his current one.

This come across more like Shanked Punt (he always had a big love for the NHS and Labour) or mesocosm.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill
