35, will have to serve 17.5 before parole eligibility. I think this was a good outcome for Anthony. He will have a shot at living a life after getting out.

This. He'll be out before 40 so great for him. Too light but not unexpected.

Not true justice. But that's basically a wasted life. I'll take it over him walking out in fifteen years

He won't get parole right at half, not in Texas

17.5 I think. He will likely be denied the first time up.

Very few people get paroled at their first hearing, especially for murder. He will likely get out in 25, which is better than he deserves, but it is what it is.

Slap on the wrist. Guess I'll take it. Still feel gutted for Austin's parents. Pray for no parole.

Unless his attitude changes a lot, his eligibility won't matter. He deserves to serve the entire 35 years.

Eligible to be released by 35 years old is awful. Should have been much much longer.

If his **** attitude results in servicing the whole sentence, so 52 years old, it's closer to acceptable.

Prayers the future parole boards hold him accountable.

You might not like it. But it is in no way a slap on the wrist.

I thought he had to serve 30 before chance for parole? Or did I misread earlier comments from others?

Still plenty of time to get out and terrorize society. Even if he served the full 35 he would still be plenty capable of causing problems.

The statistics are what they are………..

The 18 year old kid earlier in the thread that killed another 18 year old at a party with a kick to the face got 30 as well. Was paroled at 28 with good behavior.

Parents likely instilling further a victim's mentality that's gonna get him hurt in prison.

You mean using their murderer son, that is a hero of democrats, as an ATM? They don't give 2 flips about their son, just the pay day coming from white guilt libs.

Eligible for parole does not mean it's automatically granted. If he gets out that early then he truly turned his life around.

He's probably not out until he's 45 at least.

Kicking someone in the face and causing their death is materially different, in my opinion, than stabbing someone with a knife you had with you.

It's half the sentence or 30 years whichever is less. So if they sentenced him to 80 years he would be eligible in 30.
