We have figured out how to do this since the Sam Shepard case decades and decades ago. Frankly, I was dismayed the court even cited that case. Was really reaching with that one.

Kid made a really bad decision and I still remember his brother and his mom talking about it with the media. He probably won't get the DP, but he should. All athletic events in MS and HS involve metal detector and purse screening now because of this dude. A year before my kid was winning an FFL title on that same football field. Get that **** out of Frisco.

He's an outstanding judge from a family of lawyers and judges. He will not be the least bit intimidated. He's signed many a search warrant for me and he and his family are pro police, as much as you can be as a judge. But he's about fairness and has a crap ton of experience. Perfect judge for this.

Too bad the death penalty is not on the table. This is one piece of human refuse that lots of people would delight in seeing put down.

Will all depend on the jury, and no doubt the defense will do their best to stack it with as many blacks as possible since the prosecution can't strike someone simply for being black.

The defense will play Anthony up as the victim and Austin up as the actual perp, likely the entire play from the defense was that Austin said a racial slur. This is what the media will run with.

All they need is 1 person on the jury to believe the defense and its a hung jury, or a conviction on some minor charge compared to murder. The defense will do everything it can to ensure the jury had as many blacks on it as possible for this very reason.

Still. He will have to make it a number of years in the Prison system. A lifer may just decide his sentence wasn't enough.

Which doesn't come anywhere close to the legal requirement for a self defense claim in Texas.

Even if Austin shoved him or touched him in some other way; it still doesn't.

The defense is counting on idiots on the jury thinking that under Texas law, you can kill someone simply because you "think" they might be a threat.

This is the exact strategy. They're going to 100% make this about race. They're going to get the natives restless and protesting all over the place. They'll be threatening to dox jurors and kill them just like in the Chauvin trial.

That is true, but if you've seen the social media of the Karmello crowd, they've been saying self defense since before Austin was taken out of the stands. They purposefully ignore anything else.

I can close to guarantee you "beyond a reasonable doubt" a conviction here will never ever be thrown out because there were not black people on the jury.

Obviously, before the evidence is seen no one can say for sure, but I think a conviction is close to certain here.

I hope you're right but look at the Chauvin trial. He literally didn't kill Floyd. He was doing an approved restraint that he was trained to do. The medical examiner's report showed Floyd didn't die from the knee on the neck. It literally wasn't a murder and he's been put away for life because jurors couldn't stand up to the threats and pressure from the left.
To your point, based on facts then yes I would completely agree that dip**** gets convicted. Unfortunately that's not how human beings operate though.

Sorry, but "look at a completely different scenario in a completely different place" isn't really an argument for why Anthony will not be convicted.

My guess - Murder / Not Guilty. Court will allow for Manslaughter to be tacked on to charges. Manslaughter/ Guilty. Considering his age at the time, "time served" in house arrest (which reportedly has been violated multiple times) and good behavior (laughing in advance), he'll get 8 years, an end up serving about 4.

Anyone stating self defense is well, black. And ignorant or glaringly racist. But, race will determine 50% of this case
