Awful news and video coming out of there. Record flooding. Saw at least one cabin swept away. News reports are all over the place. We hear all accounted for, then hear several unaccounted for. We have family friends with kids there and they can't get in touch with the camp or officials. Several camps may be impacted. Praying for everyone.

Just be careful posting all of the rumors on social media.

As we all know social media is a cesspool, and a lot of people will post anything from unconfirmed rumors to outright lies, just to get clicks, likes, reposts/retweets.

WOAI has said the reunification location for Mystic is at Ingram Elementary so that is where parents need to go. If your child isn't there when you arrive, provide your name, the child's name, and the cabin they were in.

Press conference shortly.

Lt. Gov. Paxton will be leading it as Gov. Abbott must be out of the state since Paxton is currently acting governor.

37 foot wall of water apparently heading toward Spring Branch for anyone in that area. Canyon Lake is about to get a refill.

That sucks.

I hope everyone downstream is safe...

But, why can't it go into Medina Lake.

Just kidding but not kidding.

This is unfortunately the only way we ever get out of droughts in this area of the world.

Per those predictions, it will be 10 feet over the bridge at Hwy 281. I'll be surprised if that bridge survives it.

According to WOAI, 800-733-2767 is the number one can call to see if someone has been accounted for.

Gotta call my Dad then...

But, i'm pretty sure it won't get to his house.

He's about 200 ft above the dam...

That must be one hell of a flood. I used to work at Mystic 30 years ago. Cypress Lake camp wasn't there yet.

The Flats were closest to the river, the closest to the bank is about 50 yards up a slight incline. That's a lot of water. I don't recall how steep the hill behind them is. Hopefully, those girls got out and climbed up to the sign.

Does anyone know what time the flooding started?

First Hit San Angelo around 3:00ish in the morning. Grape creek just north of San Angelo had a radar est 12" of rain. The system then expanded quickly eastward in an east west parallel line drenching several river basins with 7'+ amounts in a short time.

There were similar floods in 1987, 2007, and 2015. Central Texas can be a tough hood when it comes to huge rain events and flooding.
