Traffic engineers will have to explain it but people are seeing reduced drive times in LA.

Really don't understand how the majority has become comfortable with wait times in ER's where you're paying for everybody in front of you, absurd increases in car insurance to pay for when you get t-boned by somebody who can say "no ingles" and just walk away, $1k a month in EBT's, and the RE taxes to pay for the 70% increase in per capita education costs for non-English students.

There are innumerable cascading negative externalities associated with illegal immigration that negate the idea of America being an economic zone for the exploitation of global labor arbitrage.

Almost immediately after housing costs, car insurance, health insurance, taxes, and numerous subsidies decrease, the appeal of less pricier lettuce will go away.

So the number of deportations has significantly impacted a metro area of 13 million? Not likely

Would the number of deportations affect the other things mentioned?

Not a ton of deportations, unfortunately, but a lot of stops.

The traffic isn't less due to these fictitious deportations.

I seriously doubt that enough illegals have been deported or have decided not to drive to have any significant impact on traffic in a city the size of LA.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be great but, I don't buy it.

You don't necessarily have to reduce the number of drivers significantly. What you need to reduce are flow disruptions that cause turbulence. Those are basically slow or ****ty drivers. Either you deport them or they start driving better because they're afraid of getting pulled over and deported, but either way you limit the disruptions to get better traffic flow.

Or some (many) stop driving altogether because they're afraid of getting pulled over and deported, or getting picked up at whatever place they might be driving to.

I still want to hear from the guy who said new home builds would cost $1,200/SF without illegal labor.

The actual cost is closer to $1/SF per $1/hour increase in pay than that BS number.

Volume of involuntary deportations hasn't impacted traffic patterns. Voluntary deportations and fear of ICE raids has.

Self deportation has to be huge. No one wants to be rounded up and put in those facilities.

Why though?

Loyalists self deported as well. Their progeny makes up Canada.

Data point: last week my lawn crew, which is normally 3-4 Mexicans, was 2 white guys and a Mexican.

I'll find out today if that was a one-time event or folks went home.

Well, when school is out, traffic is much better. At least here in Houston.

Every illegal owns two cars and drives both of them to the protests. I can see it.

The deportations haven't even gotten close to the numbers needed in CA. We need the census to only count actual citizens so Ca loses its extra seats in congress.

I'll always love San Diego but even SD has been turned into gay California. I moved back in 2023 and was back in Tx by the next summer.

You can look at Google Maps right now. Traffic is similarly light this morning.

Seeing people come around to the idea that so many of today's problems are caused by mass immigration is very rewarding. For a long time, anyone who even suggested such a thing was mocked and ridiculed.

We need to continue to press for strong border enforcement and a reduction in legal immigration.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, 4.5 years ago, allegedly/supposedly over 81 million legitimate American voters consciously decided we needed an open border even though no one explained why. Joe Biden said he was going to open it and over 81 million said, "yes, give me that", without a single argument for why it's a good thing for us, and zero Fs given about the strain on housing, traffic, peace keeping, first responders, urgent health care, education, etc.- not to mention the potential of subjecting ourselves- our own legal citizens- to risk of injury or death from sex and drug trafficking, gang or cartel violence, terrorist threats, and some of the poorest countries in the world sending their rapists and other violent criminals here to be our problem. This was what "we the people" allegedly wanted 4.5 years ago. Inexplicable, but we do have a mental illness epidemic and mass psychosis with TDS infection.

At least hopefully people are starting to realize an open border is not some brilliant strategy that leads to their "equity" utopia. The only intent is for the politically elite in a socialist regime to ultimately achieve permanent power with a much more government-dependent voter base. They don't give a single solitary F about you or your safety or what's actually good for the country.

It's not the absolute number of people, but significantly reducing the number of accidents by people who don't know how to drive and don't follow laws.

If it were true, which as we can see above is not.

IF's lawn crew has always been IF. Just get a Bad Boy cero turn. Put on/in sun screen and ear buds. Look forward to that COLD beer as you use the blower to clean things up. It lowers BP and you can wear your cut off Wranglers that your wife never allows.

The weeks before and after July 4th are peak vacation season. That's probably relevant as well.
