Grand jury proceedings do not have the burden of being public, or even fair (no right of response/defenses etc). It's largely a formality in modern federal legality, and grand jury indictments only kick off a federal prosecution/trial, more than anything else.

Sol Wachler (a brilliant guy who, to say the least, lost his way) famously had a book many years ago about how "I could indict a ham sand witch." His book is still a classic, fwiw.

Grand juries function differently than petit juries on trials wherein they work for the duration of the trial.

Grand juries last for longer, months and work for a day or two a week and are on staggered schedules. So by just observing which witnesses are going in and out of the courthouse can identify hich days and which grand juries are probably hearing a matter. Process of elimination.

Good.

And jail those who decline to attend. The democrats did it. Now it's their turn in the fire.

Let's just say a form of parallel construction. Testimony under oath is still under oath even if not in a courtroom setting. IOW, whatever is said to Oversight Committee can and will be used in the grand jury proceedings.

Mostly, yes, but at least it is something. GCF would probably testify that she can't recall who Monica Lewinsky is at this point. She'll admit to nothing absent hard evidence presented on camera which she is unprepared for and she loses her temper.

Holder is a lot dumber, but I doubt he says anything substantive as to entrapping himself with false statements. The real work will be done in courtrooms, not House chambers, imho. Congressmen/women are terrible 'part time prosecutors' imho.
