Winning tomorrow is big to get into a wild card spot but it would also even the season series with Yankees at 3-3 which would move em to the next tie breaker if it gets there. Don't know what that is but think it'll be important possibly.

I haven't paid much attention this year -- is Stanton really banged up? He went down the line with absolutely no urgency. No way that should be a double play ball for anyone not overweight.

He hurts himself so often that they've pretty much ordered him not to bust it down the line. For sure not going to see him hustle in a random game on August 5th.
If his next start goes like we think it will, and he pitches 5 innings, he will be a qualifier for the various statistical awards. He's at 111 IP, and the rangers have played 115 games.

No idea, but I thought if I were a yankee fan I'd have been pissed at how he went down the line. It was terrible

That makes a little more sense. I mean, even "please take it easy" Seager beats that out with ease. Was a great play by Seager and Semien, but that's a fielder's choice 99 out of 100 times.

Stanton's got a hall of fame bat, but for whatever reason he's made of glass and can't play the field or run at full speed without hurting himself.

Its wild to me that Eovaldi will probably struggle to get to innings needed to qualify for ERA leaders.
After the 1968 season, MLB lowered the mound from 15" to 10" for the 1969 season. So, you can't really compare the two from 1968.
And while it was 15"... it wasn't uniformly enforced.

Just another reminder of how obscenely, outrageously great turn of the millennium Pedro Martinez was. Dude had an ERA+ of 291 and a real ERA OF 1.74 at the height of the steroid era.
You can make a legitimate argument that for 4 years or so he was better at his job than any other athlete in history has ever been at theirs, especially in the context of when he played and relative to the competition faced. This wasn't like Wilt dominating a league that just couldn't matchup with him.

So, for the full story. I really want to thank AgsWin2011. Mrs DA 94 and I had a great time, and we enjoyed Water Boy and Water Girl.
The Lexus Club spread was top notch. Paella, carving station, lamb... drinks... and great service. If you get a chance to experience it, I highly recommend it. Pics to come. It was the kind of higher-end buffet where you feel satisfied with quality not quantity.
Seats were about as great as you can get. Watching games from inside the dugout... well, we weren't quite in the dugout, but practically. I'm 90% sure Corey Seager's wife was in the row in front of us. If the seats are good enough for his wife, I suspect they are pretty good.
I'll have to see whom the other ladies were. Two of them were familiar and as a whole, I'm sure I've seen most of them.
It's a different experience from that section. Something not to take for granted. To see a thriller game like that where Eovaldi was dealing and the Rangers constantly had them on the ropes. You knew the Rangers were going to break through.
It was a great experience. Thank you again agswin2011! Not everyday you get to see evo throw a gem up close and see the Rangers win a close game! Even the "routine" plays were fun to watch. Also great to hangout with Mr. and Mrs. DallasAg!
Burger just got moved from AA to AAA, do the Rangers wait till September to bring him up? I think Tellez is playing well enough that the Rangers keep him with Burger. You can't really drop Haggerty or Osuna for him so it's either Zeke or Rowdy but Zeke can play multiple positions.
