A couple of interesting items on the agenda…namely flood emergency planning and THC issue.

Curious what folks think the outcome will be.

I am guessing there is pressure for them to provide studies and funding for mitigation in the flood issue. So I expect them to throw money at it, but I hope they are strategic about how it's done.

On the THC, I am not sure what to expect. Since the bill was voted through and then vetoed, what is the next step in reaching conclusion? Do they have another vote?

They have a new bill. The veto'd bill is dead and no way to revive it.

And what about redistricting?

Absolute stupidity that our roads are being held hostage by construction companies, our power grid is sub par at past, and corruption is rampant...but yeah, weed is the problem.

The problem is we have a Democrat pretending to be a Republican running the House and making it so that nothing people care about gets done.

The power grid problem is because of Obama and his EPA.

If we still had Sandow, Big Brown, Monticello, and Gibbons Creek online, we wouldn't have this problem. Obama and his war on coal caused this.

I hope we see this, the less Democrats the better

Didn't say it wasn't. Im.sayomg the legislature is ignoring it instead of pushing to create solutions.

The only thing they care about is the Trump mandated redistricting. No time for silly state matters for our state representatives

Huh?

I suspect they'll do absolutely nothing about redistributing. The fake Republican leadership did nothing all session, other than obstruct conservatives.

Dan Patrick and the other rats are using authoritarianism (banning THC) to distract from property tax abuse
Ellis Wyatt

I don't think Dan Patrick is the one keeping Texans' agenda from being done. He isn't the speaker of the house.

He ran on property tax. That was his issue. Whe
He got to Austin he played the whole "Ho hum….lets ban gummies."

And I don't even partake

I don't disagree that gummies are a goofy thing to be wasting time on, but I don't think that's being done because he doesn't care about taxes. I think it's being done because the RINOs in the House intend to use gummies as the issue to run out the clock on everything else.

I agree, buuuuuut, Trump was President for a bit there. Then we had Obama's 3rd term with Biden as "Weekend at Bernie's". Thankfully, Trump beat Harris and he's well on his way to fixing things......amirite?

They were astonishingly efficient blowing up Big Brown and wiping it off the map. Freestone County Commissioners with their palms greased gave the lake up to Chinese backed wealthy developer. Absolutely sickening.

The Lt Gov is pretty much the most powerful official in TX.

So, yeah...

Yep. It was his Go-Green initiative that ERCOT embraced that has messed up the power grid issue.

The last three speakers are all in business together so what does that tell ya? We have people running as Republicans that know they can no longer win in their districts if the had a D by their name.

Redistricting might not happen fof two reasons
any new map can probably tied up in court and not be in effect for the '26 elections given that primaries happen in less than a year &
The goal of Creating 5 more safe R districts is going to be very difficult creating 3 would be easier there might not be agreement and both proposals fail

They're not mutually exclusive. The legislature should be addressing all these issues instead of being worthless non-working Rinos and dems.
