Good feed. When it cycles to Hanalei Colony. Water had receded to expose the reef near shore about ten minutes ago. Water has come back to normal level but no big wave yet.

I will admit that I'm sitting up watching the TV (in central Texas time) hoping that everyone makes out okay, no high water, no boats in port that are damaged, hoping everyone gets out of any low water areas, beaches...

Haven't slept much since the morning of July 4. Especially at night.

Given the proximity to this event and the recent Texas floods, I think a discussion regarding the "crying wolf" syndrome is worth mentioning. Some have mentioned that more action wasn't taken in the flooding case because the victims may have been pacified by other warnings. I'm getting alerts about tsunami warnings while driving through CO and TX…

That's a good observation.

For me, i went back a few days ago and noticed that I had turned off pretty much every warning notification I could (on my iPhone).

So, I turned on most of them.

Then, this morning I received a "Code Maroon" test alert from Texas A&M.

I live in Kerr county. My phone was in Kerr County. Sigh.

Lucky. We are sitting on 19 on the big island and they arent letting anyone back into the resorts. It's so discouraging but not surprising.
