The victim and attacker knew each other.

It is very possible the perp said something before the attack as to why so that could be why the police said it was personal and not political.

Edit: Wasn't going to post the rumors as to why, but others already have.

I think what would help a TON is to get rid of no fault divorce. Add on top of that the offending party is responsible for damages to the victimized party

ETA: Also make DNA/Paternity testing mandatory so that paternity fraud can be stopped/punished
