Yeah, I remember when the BLS "adjusted" numbers after Obamas disastrous first debate and magically gave us the greatest job growth in 4 years between the 1st and 2nd debates.You probably bought that bull**** too.
That, plus the endless downward revisions after rosy projections pretty much every Biden quarter. They are political hacks. It's crazy that the Fed makes decisions on these sham numbers.

Making up/hiding data was/is a big thing with communist regimes. I imagine giving Kim Jong Un the accurate data on grain harvests would result in immediate execution.

I honestly am not sure who to believe on numbers out of our government institutions these days as there has been an ongoing and seemingly deliberate effort to inject political activism into the bureaucracy and then an aggressive backlash against that that have combined to make output questionable. We used to have a certain level of professional ethic in government bureaucracy and a pride in being neutral and objective or at least mostly attempting to do so, but that has been badly eroded.

Yeah, he really does go off the cuff. There is a lot of coverage of him blowing up the Swiss trade deal in the last few days single-handidly and the new 39% tariff just being made up on the spot.

But if you try hard enough . . .you can convince yourself their is some 4D chess maneuver being played. Really it is the Benny Hill music reverberating through the White House.

I mean... clearly Biden appointees are going to be fair to Trump and never produce altered data that LIES. The Democrats are so very trustworthy. The pattern has been to give optimistic numbers during Democrat administrations, and revise them downwards later.
And to give bad numbers for Republican admins, and revise them upwards later.

The BLS leadership should have been gone after this bull****

Why even have the BLS if you can't be accurate one ****ing time. It is an absolutely worthless agency, and its shocking to me that the Fed uses their numbers to make decisions.

The real issue is that survey response rates have plummeted in the wake of the pandemic. Initial response rates are now under 60% so labor statisticians are getting noisier data and it is taking longer to fill out proper datasets, hence the bigger revisions

Flash reports were demanded by everyone as part of good government and both stock and bond markets would scream bloody murder if you walked them back but they deserve a re-think just like political polling models.

Gotcha, so the implication is that she cooked the books for Biden to make the numbers better? or she rigged the numbers against Trump?

B/c if she's simply reporting the 'real' numbers now that Biden is gone, is the new person supposed to cook the books for Trump? Is that the best case scenario for MAGA?

If Q3 has good numbers, wouldn't everyone assume it's only because they're being faked?

Well here is the number I care about:

1.8mm jobs for Americans in the last 4 months. -1.5mm jobs for non-Americans. I expect that trend will continue.

I want overall workforce participation up... by Americans. I want non-Americans, those here illegally, to leave the workforce and the country. This cleans up our welfare rolls twice and improves the long term prospects for the whole country.

Please and thank you. And yes, it has long been suspected that the jobs numbers have been manipulated for political reasons. IIRC there was a 3 month stretch where the number didn't change which had a statistical probability so low that it would have been graded as a zero percent chance of happening on basically any table anywhere. And the revisions are so bad that the benchmarks are basically worthless.

So take all of this with a grain of salt. Even the numbers I'm happy about.
