Watched an interview the other day where the content being produced by platforms like Amazon, Apple, and such are described as loss leaders. The object is not really to produce good content, but to simply act as a loss leader to protect/retain customer base and enhance the primary revenue generator.

I watched Sinners and "woke" never crossed my mind. It was an entertaining movie, nothing more or less.

I think this movie is "woke" in the same way all old people are "boomers". Its become a catch-all term for complaining about something so it's lost its original meaning.

BATTLE:LA is more of a remake of Independence Day

the entire point to WOW is that the Martians are defeated by the Earth germs

in Independence Day they weren't martians and they were taken out by Jeff Goldblum being the first hacker.

War of the Worlds was one of the first scifi books that I read. Watched the previous two movies. Each tries to put a more modern spin on the theme. Woke....meh. Cheaply made with poor acting. if its trying to promote a woke agenda they failed miserably.

The best production was Orsen Well's radio broadcast. You could imagine any theme you wanted. It is/was the most realistic and quite frankly, terrifying.

No. Lots of good stuff. David was outstanding. Jack Reacher is a blast. Prime has some good stuff.

Now Netflix is where you find the woke lefty trash and Black Roman emperors. Stranger Things is the only thing on there worth a flip

Ill go with Tom Cruise's 2005 effort. Very well done and very creepy. That said absolutely- major props to the legendary 1930's broadcast.

The funny thing is the lack of self awareness by a few of the posters on that board. They will post lefty stuff, but if anyone dares to disagree or if they call out the politics of a movie.....they throw a tantrum and tell you to go back to F16.

They even do it on threads about movies that are political or have had actors make political comments about the movie.
