On April 21, 1945, Inouye was grievously wounded while leading an assault on the heavily defended Colle Musatello ridge near San Terenzo, Italy. The ridge served as a strongpoint of the German fortifications known as the Gothic Line, the last and most unyielding line of German defensive works in Italy. During a flanking maneuver against German machine gun nests, Inouye was shot in the stomach from 40 yards away. Ignoring his wound, Inouye proceeded with the attack and together with the unit, destroyed the first two machine gun nests. As his squad distracted the third machine gunner, the injured Inouye crawled toward the final bunker and came within 10 yards. As he prepared to toss a grenade within, a German soldier fired out a 30 mm Schiessbecher antipersonnel rifle grenade at Inouye, striking Inouye in the right elbow. Although it failed to detonate, the blunt force of the grenade amputated most of his right arm at the elbow. The nature of the injury caused Inouye's arm muscles to involuntarily squeeze the grenade tightly via a reflex arc, preventing his arm from going limp and dropping a live grenade at his feet. This injury left Inouye disabled, in terrible pain, under fire with minimal cover and staring at a live grenade "clenched in a fist that suddenly didn't belong to me anymore."

Inouye's platoon moved to his aid, but Inouye shouted for them to keep back out of fear his severed fist would involuntarily relax and drop the grenade. As the German inside the bunker began reloading his rifle with regular full metal jacket ammunition to finish off Inouye, Inouye pried the live hand grenade from his useless right hand with his left, and tossed it into the bunker, killing the German. Stumbling to his feet, Inouye continued forward, killing at least one more German before sustaining his fifth and final wound of the day in his left leg. Inouye fell unconscious, and awoke to see the worried men of his platoon hovering over him. His only comment before being carried away was to gruffly order them back to their positions, saying "Nobody called off the war!" By the end of the day, the ridge had fallen to American control, without the loss of any soldiers in Inouye's platoon. The remainder of Inouye's mutilated right arm was later amputated at a field hospital without proper anesthesia, as he had been given too much morphine at an aid station and it was feared any more would lower his blood pressure enough to kill him. The war in Europe ended on May 8, less than three weeks later.

I am curious how entering the Trump sphere causes such a dramatic transition in appearance

.

And for every one of those, you can find 50 more in Hollywood who have done the same thing.

It's gross and shallow, no matter the party or location. I don't get the drive some women have to change their face to resemble a fish or Jigsaw.

Women are vain by nature and freak out as they age.

Some just accept it, while others will do anything to try to look young forever.

While there are some exceptions, it usually makes things worse.

While how well a person ages has a lot to do with genetics, people can actively do things to look good even into their 50s and 60s. Women would be better off eating a healthy diet, exercising, avoiding too much sun, not smoking, and not being miserable all the time. The latter can rot the body as fast as anything else.

It's sad that Loomer is such a nutcase and looks like a freak. She used to be rather nice looking.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Agreed, between the duck lips and bulimic/borderline anorexic "trophy wives" I see in the wealthier neighborhoods of Houston...I feel like women no longer care as much about impressing men, as they do about signaling to each other...or just following trends/pressure from society, social media etc.

The duck lips are f-ing ridiculous, and proof that even some of the most sane and successful women are crazy to some degree. This is not rationale behavior...it's indicative of psychosis and unhealthy body image complexes.

I honestly think a lot of childless women in their 30's, 40's and beyond tend to become less and less stable as they age. Many women seem to handle not having a child just fine, but many absolutely do not (even though they often try to convince themselves, and project outwardly, otherwise).

Someone on here once said something like "if you don't use your eggs, they scramble". This is true for many women, but certainly not all.

Inside the White House, though, some senior officials have had it with Loomer. They are increasingly suspicious of her true motives, and have speculated that what she says and does is influenced by lobbying firms and companies trying to advance their own interests, according to four White House officials and another Trump administration official.

"Laura is more trouble than she's worth," a White House official told me. "She used to pretty much just amplify the MAGA line, but now it's pretty clear that she has her own agenda."

Another White House official said: "There is widespread understanding here that she's not guided entirely by loyalties to the president, but external business interests."

Those skeptics could not point to any payments as evidence, but some of them have alleged that drugmaker Sarepta Therapeutics may have paid Loomer either directly or indirectly.

Marc Caputo, the Axios reporter who is on great terms with the White House, validated the quotes.

It's not some big revelation to think there would be frustration in the cabinet & administrative team that there's a loose canon firing off tweets running with stories before checking it out...with unusually open access to the President.

And especially when she runs a "consulting" company.

I mean, you don't really even need sources to assume these would be the thoughts of White House staffers about Loomer.

They're many people's thoughts on her and for good reason.

Anonymous staffers being upset is no surprise. Yes, she's a look bird.

That doesn't change the intent of that article. Trying to drive a wedge into MAGA.
