Apparently it was the surviving member of the duo. There's also the "Real Milli Vanilli", which looks to be a loose association of various singers who actually performed the songs. I don't think any of them are appearing.

And I also found this. Apparently back in the day when the real/fake Milli Vanilli played at Six Flag Over Texas, they started the show with "Hello Houston!".

The others, I was not at all surprised that they dropped out, but Bret? What exactly were they mislead on? None of the statements or articles state this.
