And most of his supporters understand basic economics, the risk of Iran, and personal sacrifice.

His detractors lack all those and also basic common sense and objectivity.

Every week it seems another house in our relatively affluent DFW suburban neighborhood goes under foreclosure. Bare minimum home price at purchase was around $500k and anyone who bought in the last 5 years paid somewhere between $650k-$1.1 million. Almost every single street right now has a home being panic sold or that is abandoned due to foreclosure. It became very noticeable about 4-5 months ago. Anecdotally it feels like the annual holiday bill finally pushed a bunch of people teetering on the edge over it.

Also, I've noticed a huge uptick in multigenerational homes. Lots of people having their parents or kids sell their homes and come live with them.

That was really a stupid thing to say.

I agree with almost every policy he's implemented, but damn, he just can't get out of his own way sometimes.

The 9.1 was four years ago. The OP is clear that 4.2 is the highest in the last three years.

Bidenflation is old news. It helped get Trump elected, among other things, but it's old news.

Trump owns this now. He said as much today when he said he "loves the inflation."

I never said people aren't going out. I'm simply acknowledging the reality that inflation is going in the wrong direction after it cooled a bit, and a lot of people are hurting from it. I want Trump and his team to address it in a straight-forward manner instead of trying to spin it away or mock it with statements like "I love inflation." That just pisses people off when someone tries to tell them something they know is not true. I don't want them to lose Congress to the Dems, but he's not helping with his approach on this issue.

Check your history record again. Inflation oscillated around 2% for roughly the first 20 years of this century until Bidenflation kicked it up. A lot of people got used to that low inflation and built their lifestyle around it. It was a key driver behind interest rates staying low which spawned all kinds of economic activity.

If inflation stays at 4.2%, then you can count on mortgage rates at 7% and higher. Auto loans even more than that. Won't be good for economic activity.

Inflation is a thief that needs to be kept to a minimum, not dismissed or laughed away.

Dems didn't give two ****s when inflation was high under Biden. If you take the Carter era definition, it was the highest inflation in recorded history!

And "moderate" Joe Manchin was in on the game too with Biden's laughable INFLATION REDUCTION ACT! Liberals believe borrowing and spending massive amounts of money during high inflationary periods reduces inflation. They are dumb as rocks! Every one of them!

The inflation doomsday machine was sent in motion decades ago before Trump ever took office. At his second inauguration, Trump inherited a national debt of $35 trillion. A number the USA could never pay back irregardless of who was president. Jamie Diamond and Warren Buffett couldn't balance this budget with the Congress we are stuck with. No matter who the next president is, the dollar is heading to zero. Latest predictions show the dollar losing another 90% of its value in only 10 years.

Dems have significant power!!

That's why we are not spending operational funds for ICE right now and are having to spend money allocated in the BBB for that department. Dems refuse to fund it. If the Rs were to actually cut spending, the Dems would refuse to pass any future CR. The government would then shutdown.
