Neither can the Republican Party especially if the reserves run dry by late summer.
There's a reason we did Venezuela before Iran. Soon Iran's oil won't affect the US. Iran wants a deal before then. Trump wants a deal before the midterms. We'll see who wins.

This guy has experience with Iran, being so far away and not being able to get away. Trump should appoint him as special advisor.

Trump's not helping himself by repeatedly claiming things like "we've destroyed their military". If he would just claim something closer to the truth, like "we've destroyed a lot of their weapons but they still some ability to attack us, and we are working to end that" then people in the middle might believe him. But when you claim they are destroyed and then they launch 30 missiles at us, or a drone hits an Apache helicopter, then people claim that he's making it all up.
Give it time and the cult will start repeating it as fact.
