Trump's efforts to deny Iran a nuclear bomb should be compared to Obama's efforts to give 100's of billions of dollars to Iran to make sure they get a nuclear bomb, and Clinton, both Bushes and Biden not doing a damn thing to stop Iran from getting nukes.

So Trump is doing the best job of any president in history to stop Iran from getting nukes

President Trump holds cards that we don't even know about, as the world's best deal maker and commander in chief. So it's almost pointless for us to speculate on solutions. The question is, do you believe in him to achieve all of the objectives that we started out with? If not, you may be a RINO. Or worse, a CM.

I could sleep with Sydney Sweeney. I have all the cards, you just don't know about them. I just choose not to use them at the moment.

World's best deal maker? C'mon man. Trump has been known to TACO, time and time again. I like what Trump has done and support him but that's a little much. I trust Trump and the GOP on foreign policy and support him on the fact that Iran absolutely cannot be allowed to have nukes. But this has been very painful for the US and the World. If it is a price we have to bear, then so be it.

At the very minimum it does keep the "are you not entertained?!" level cranked to eleventy every time we're always "just two weeks!' away from something, whatever, as if it matters at this point.

Oh, and for the record: Unless Trump gets all the uranium out of Iran, it'll be hard to believe that any deal he makes will leave Iran in any different shape than they were before his war with them.

But, again, entertainment factor at ultimate level.

Staying off social media helps tremendously. To me, he's just another one in a long line of presidents who do what they can with the little time they have to do it in.

That's why I'm all about outcomes and not promises and "soon". Give me results or at least keep me entertained. Trump isn't giving me much of the former that any other person in his position would, but when it comes to the latter, he's giving in spades.

I agree the two months of negotiations have been nothing more than an Iranian delay tactic and Trump needs to finish the job. Bomb the bridges, Kharg Island, refiners and all oil facilities, the water desalination plants, power stations, and any time a light comes on, bomb that too! And of course bomb the Republican guard, all the Ayatollahs plus any body that supports them and bomb all the banks too. Additionally confiscate all Iranian wealth around the world.
Fatboy Thaddeus

I think this is what it'll look like:
1) Knock out Kharg Island
2) US declares an end to hostilities but leaves the blockade in place, occasionally straight up jacking some tankers out of Iran.
3) Let Iran tear up everyone else's infra and then find whatever equilibrium works with Israel vis-a-vis Hezbollah.
4) Turkey will assume the mantle of carving up the region.

I think #3 might've been the goal all along, given the inevitability of #4.

From Israel's perspective a lot of their ongoing operations against Hezbollah are as much about buffer space vs. Turkey as they are about degrading said Iranian proxy.

From Iran's perspective the blockade will increasingly limit their ability to project power at the same time as their neighbors are upgrading their air defenses and at the same time as Turkey places crosshairs upon Iran as its top regional rival.

And all the while the blocked energy flows continue to run down China's vaunted strategic reserves while destroying global demand that currently remedies their centrally-planned overproduction. This will also limit the effectiveness of any China-Iran axis (and is also why the blockade must remain).

I can't stand MSM anymore. I listen to Bloomberg exclusively - mainly for financial info and they do the very quick hit with the news.

I will occasionally turn on CNN or FOX in the car when Bloomberg in on commercial break, but maybe last two minutes, if that, before I have to turn it off.

As a reminder…it took Israel months to deal with Gaza and it was literally on their border and they still had to put troops on the ground.

I'd say the strength of the approach is that time is on our side, up to the point where either a) China and/or Russia escalate and enable Iran to contact our blockade ships, or b) China's navy achieves the expeditionary reach to challenge our blockade. Both of those are O(years) away.
