My son received invitations to these two events this summer at A&M. Anyone have experience and recommend 1 over the other? We've already registered for Discover Aggieland but not sure if it is worth doing the National Scholars thing. I can't find much about it. Seems like maybe it is for potential NMS kids to talk about opportunities for them at A&M. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure he is going to miss NMS by 1 or 2 points(218 score) so in the end I don't think the NMS scholarships etc will apply to him.

My son did the Discover Aggieland thing in the fall. To this day, we still don't have any idea how he got the invite. But it was a good day overall, was surprised a bit at the demographics.

Went to the National Scholars presentation a couple years ago. Overall, not impressed. If I didn't have a prior connection to A&M, there was nothing that day that would have made me want my kid to choose A&M. I think some of the information that was somewhat helpful could have been presented at a general informational session for any interested student.

Maybe other majors had a better experience, but our tour of the life sciences college was an embarrassment for the quality of students that were there. There was no professor or someone from the Dean's office there that day to give a presentation. After a couple student workers asked around if somebody was there to give a presentation, we had a student worker give a PowerPoint presentation and then drive us around on a golf cart and point out the buildings that most classes would be in. It was just my kid and one other I believe for that portion, so I guess they weren't worried about missing out on a lot of kids because of no effort put in on their part.

Just realized when this was posted so I'm guessing the National Scholars presentation has already passed. Did you end up attending it?
