First time poster. Family made a tour of College Station this weekend. Really loved the Culture, Tradition and Engineering Dept. My son my had a desire to be a part of the military academy. He was accepted into the USAFA and interviewed with West Point multiple times. After acceptance to The USAFA he stopped looking anywhere else and was excited for the opportunity. In late April the academy rescinded the acceptance, all schools actually, disqualified him for a small health concern. Kid is super healthy and disciplined in eating habits and working out. This is all background info of course but after the reroute he has decided to join the Aggie family and the Core of Cadets. My question is he is an out of state student. Joining the Core will waive all out of state fees.
How difficult is it to get other financial scholarships. He plans to apply August 1 for the spring semester. He was a straight A cat all through high school. Lettered in Football, Golf and Track. Earned Valedictorian of his class and is just a dang fine kid who believes in eye to eye conversation and handshakes. Old school politeness to the core.He really fell in Love with the school. It was an amazing time for us all and He has that light in his eye after all the military misfortune.
I believe he has the merit to be accepted but wondering with that size of school how generous the university and core is with financial assistance in the form of scholarship. Appreciate any and all comments.
