Odd trade to make pre-draft. Usually late round picks are traded when a certain player drops and someone moves up to get them.
And I get the time value aspect but giving up 2 5ths for a couple 6ths and a 7th doesn't seem like great value.

I was confused at first but then realized that the second 5th was for 2027. So it really doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things. Getting 3 picks this year just gives a lot of ammo to get over the hump of deals, and shows that Caserio is probably going to be very active in this draft.JCA1 said:

Eh. I don't see this as some great draft capital. I don't think a couple 6ths and a 7th move the needle much. Probably not much more than the 5th we gave. No trade hinges on a 7th round pick.
Caserio has earned our trust but it's a head scratcher from a timing standpoint.
You moved down 13 spots this year and added 2 more picks for this draft.
Feels like a trade to have more flexibility for small draft moves, not big ones.

We gave up two picks that were better than the three we got back. They also gave us three nickels for two dimes.
Maybe we just needed more than 1 cheap player stat for cap reasons or that they're all fungible in that range. Head scratcher but whatever.
Discount rounds in future drafts. Texans late 5th in 2027 equal to a 7 in 2025. So you trade a 5 and equivalent of a late 7 for 2 6ths and a 7. Texans must want these late picks either because they are making fewer early picks (trading up) or maybe Cleveland is trading down for a lot of picks or both. We will find out this weekend.

To me, that's the most oversold aspect.
He can probably play in spot situations both ways but he's not going to be anywhere near a full time 2-way player.

What will Hunter's true position be? The NFL isn't college football, he will need to focus on one position and then utilize him in specific spots. If he truly tries to go full time at both positions, he will not be a star.

Yeah. If he wants to at least play some both ways, seems like he will have to be a full time CB and then come in for 10 or so downs on offense. It's a lot easier to be a spot receiver than a spot CB.

Yep. If you've heard Stingley talk about film study and picking up receiver's tendencies, etc., it should be pretty obvious that it would be real hard to be an elite CB part time.
He's either a full time WR and pretty much nothing else or a full time CB who has a handful of offensive plays as a WR.

I believe we traded down for Kenyon, not sure on Juice.
Definitely traded up for Kenyon.
