Thank you. So I can use my old account that probably hasn't been used in 10 years and then create one just for him? Good to know. We haven't given it to him yet, so I haven't been able to go in and play around with it yet.
Yes, you'll set yours up first and then you can go in and make him an account and set up parental controls. Honestly I'd set some time up to get this done ahead of time so that it's ready to go when you do give it to him.

That's how I did it with Christmas a few years back. Unboxed everything and downloaded all the necessary updates, games, etc. so that when we gave it to the kiddos it was ready to plug & play.

Now I'm overkill, I've got multiple TVs and multiple consoles running in my basement so now it's gaming central for me and my kiddos. 12 year old me would have had his mind blown with that arrangement.

Make sure it is a sub account (linked to yours as a child account) so you can share games within the ratings you set, share PS-plus if you get that, etc.

Sounds awesome. Where do you live that you have a basement? Love to see a pic of your setup.

Finally got the wife to suggest a PS5 yesterday.

Background: She's an Addam's Family Pinball junkie. Built in 1992 it is the most popular pinball machine of all time. For years we'd look a the machines but never justify the cost. In 2010 a well refurbished unit was $5K. That price is typically tripled + today.

In 2015 a video game company finally secured the rights to do a replica. I think the issue was the use of voices from the movie that were in the physical machine.

Visually it was an incredible replica. All of the mechanics were there, the character's quips were perfect, etc. The only issue was a lag b/w hitting the buttons for the bumpers and the actual performance on screen. All of the other digital replica machines were flawless, but AF had a lag. You got used to it, but you would still always lose balls that you would have saved without the lag.

To yesterday - I hadn't played the PS3 in at least a year and probably not AF in 3 or 4. Wife returned from the grocery store, walked in the media room, and said "When is it my turn". I pointed out the lag still existed even though we were using a TV now instead of a projector. Within 15 minutes she asked how much a PS5 cost. I quoted the Pro price and poined out I had a $200 BB gift card

And now for a question - what other games do you recommend that are fun for 2 players? She's played Mario Kart before at a friend's house and really enjoyed it.

What are some similar cute/fun games for the PS5 that will keep the hook set for her?

I know if I want MK the only option is to get a Nintendo. I went w/PS5 because I'll use it for Hogwarts, God of War, RD2, and probably NCAA FB.

Setup is a 98" TCL QM8 mini LED, 9.1 dolby atmos surround.

It Takes Two is an incredible couch co-op game. The developers also just released a spiritual successor recently called Split Fiction.

I played through It Takes Two with my college age daughter who doesn't game at all and we had a blast... so it's definitely accessible to anyone.
