I think the biggest disappointment that I have with the PS5 is the level of integration development with the DualSense from most studios. Astro's Playroom was basically a blueprint and tech demo of how it can be applied and it was awesome. From what I read about Astro Bot, same thing. Not sure if it's too difficult to dev for, or if most studios just limit it to basic haptics and that's all they want to do - either way I feel like the hardware technology is being underutilized.
I know what you are saying, but I've enjoyed the subtle ways most are using it. In Helldivers for example, when you go full auto with a heavy machine gun, the triggers have a really nice bounce to them to go along with the controller rumble. If you really mash hard on the triggers you won't notice it as much, but if you give it a nice easy trigger pull, the full auto bounce on triggers really adds to the game.
Astro Bot is definitely in a league of it's own... but even in limited use, I really appreciate the varied rumble features of the PS5. Much more immersive than the Xbox controllers I've been playing on for years.
