My PS5 display says it cannot do 4K HDR at 2160P because the connected HDMI device doesn't support it.
The TV is new (late 2024 purchase) - TCL 98" 4K. HDMI1 is connected via my AV receiver to the PS5. That HDMI supports up to 144hz. It does support 4K HDR.
My AV is a 2019 Marantz SR6014. I noticed it says it is HDMI 2.0 and has 4k 60p/3d pass thru.
Is that the problem? The AV isn't 2.1? If so, if I hook the PS5 directly to HDM1 on the TV, can I still use the eARC HDMI (HDM4) to route the sound back to the AV?
