Nice steady rain all day today in East Brazos County. At 1.5 inches for the day so far and looks to be more the rest of the week.

Medina County needs rain so badly. All of Southwest Texas does. This drought is getting old.

How old are these farmers that they were farming in the 50's?

They were old. The farmers I talked to about it weren't farming in the 50's, but they were sons of farmers that did. I should have said "they think it is, based off of what they were told about it from their Dads".

You need to bookmark it and then save it. Regular bookmarks fall off after 10 days, saved ones stay forever.

i've got a bookmark and I do see the notifications but after a while of no post when there is one and I go to it, it takes me to the top of the thread, and I have to go to the bottom. I did however change it from just in app to in app plus push so we'll see what that does.

.15 in Junction overnite. Guess I need to be thankful for every little bit in this drought. Powerful winds, things breaking and moving, supposed to have gusts to 50 mph today.

Not rain but hurricane force winds Friday across the state

EVEN STRONGER WINDSTORM & DUST EXPECTED across western half of #Texas into #Oklahoma on Friday

Models depicting gusts up to 80MPH across West Texas and up to 60MPH across Oklahoma

This will bring in very dangerous fire weather

Fast moving dust-storm like last week with limited visibility and hazardous road conditions.

Will it ever rain again?

Firmly into March, and so far, every front is dry. Not a drop of moisture to be had :/

Was reading over the weekend that LaNina is almost over and we're headed to either the neutral state between or possibly a weak El Nino by summer. Either scenario is usually much better options for us here in Texas. The neutral state brings more severe weather with it but less predictable. El Nino will bring cooler, wetter weather. Hoping for a moderate to strong El Nino.

The dust I've inhaled the last 3 weeks at the baseball fields here in NB is about to kill my eyes and sinuses. Boat is still tucked away in storage because of lack of time and lakes. Given up on yard. Over it-we need rain.
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, we need rain in the worst way. We've had like one average year of rain in the last 6. Everything else has been 10"-20" below average.

Where are you located? Here in the DFW area we have had average rainfall almost every year since 2020
ABATTBQ11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
SA. We're in exceptional drought right now. The last 6 years of rainfall:

8.75" below average in 2024
12.4" below average in 2023
20.9" below average in 2022
2.2" above average in 2021
11.71 below average in 2020
10.39" below average in 2019

So over the last 6 years, we're 62" below average (ETA average is 32.4", so about 30% below over that period). It's 42.5" below over the last 3 (ETA that's 45% below average).

2025 isn't looking much better. We're at 1.75" for the year so far. Normal would be 4.7. Looking at long term forecasts, it's supposed to be a warm and dry spring, which is incredibly depressing and disheartening since summer is also looking brutal.

The Edwards aquifer is 40 feet below average. It's the second lowest recording since the 30's, and the lowest since 1956.

Medina Lake is at 2.3%. Canyon Lake is at 48%, which sounds better than it is. It hasn't been this low since the 60's when they were filling it. Wife's grandparents have property on a cove on Canyon that usually has about 12'-15' of water in it, and the edge of the water is almost a half mile from their house now.
