A picture of Mary Grace in her first communion dress was on ABC World News Tonight.
So many tears. Dermdoc…you are in my prayers.

Kids are something.
I had been laying the foundation with my son that Blakely may have "gone to be with her father."
Today I had to break the news that this was true.
He of course took it badly, but his first questions to me were:
Who will Blakely play with in Heaven?
Can you look up on the internet what heaven looks like?
Kids to life so much better than we/I do.

I saw a fb post of the school Lila and Eloise attended and they posted a picture of pink and purple ribbons on the fence for them.
I can't find it again though and I didn't save it…maybe someone else saw it too

This is very much hearsay (a friend of a friend's third grade daughter who was in one of the cabins on the flats), so take it with a huge grain of salt, but the child apparently told her mom that everyone in her cabin was able to evacuate, but there was one girl who was separated from the group (something about bedding- she turned around and went back to get a stuffed animal or a blanket or something? or was slowed down from leaving by getting something from her bed? Not sure.) and that little girl was the only one from this child's cabin who was swept away because she was behind the group somehow.
I can't imagine the survivors' guilt in any child or counselor that was there- counselors in the cabins where girls were lost especially. Teenagers or young 20s girls who were trying their absolute darndest to herd a large group of scared and confused little children in the dark through very deep water. It would have been close to impossible to keep eyes on every single child. The fact that these young women WERE able to save so many lives is astounding. I do hope those counselors have access to the very best in trauma counseling. They are heroes.
Unfortunately, yes, this does align with a girl named "Greta" being the only child in her age group having been lost. Of course I do not know the specific details of why or how she was separated but it does appear the rest of her cabin survived. One of the early lists of children missing reported she was in Jumble House.mbowdoin said:

Definitely possible. That child, if the story is true, could have also been talking about how it appears that the Twins cabins girls got split up one way or another. For accuracy's sake, one inconsistency is that Greta was not in 3rd grade like the other girls. Greta's mother reported this was her third year at mystic, which would have made her approx a rising 5th grader who would not have been bunking with a 3rd grader. We likely will not ever know the precise reason why or how this poor girl got separated from her peers, other than that it was a horrible disaster.2008and1 said:
Aligns, but I can't help be suspicious of a "friend of a friend" story in a first ever post to TexAgs. Not saying it isn't legit, but too many false stories have come through here already.
Edit: but I also know this event has brought a lot of new people to TexAgs.

a family found a lost stuffy and have cleaned it up to return to the owner/family. On the off chance that anyone recognises the precious thing...

Our heart is with all those grieving on this thread and throughout the state. Question: is there a separate pink color for certain members of camp? I'm seeing only green around the park cities.
Thanks.trouble said:
Because biochem is a great friend, my tree at home is pinked for Mary Grace.
I said a rosary for her in the prettiest little mountain church today.
