Oh, precious girl.

Derm, thanks for sharing with us. Continuing to pray for all. Lately I will say the prayers for Cile have been more like deep pleas.

Remembering all of the families this morning but especially Cile's family. Lord, cradle them in Your hands.

So does anyone have insight into what the SAR looks like right now? I'm sure the numbers have dwindled a bit but are there still a number of units and dogs on the ground working? Still lots of volunteers still working in clean up?

Not gonna lie TA fam, it was hard seeing our son go off to CLH last year for the first time but today was incredibly difficult for Momma and me after the events of July 4th. We'll be on pins and needles until he comes back home, but will continue to pray for all of those affected families from the flood.

There's still a lot of active resources.

Comprehensive daily situation reports are here: https://tdem.texas.gov/response/state-operations-center

Get the pdf file(s) "25-0026 02JUL Severe Weather SITREP xx MMDDYY". At the end is a breakdown of all resources.

The Vets have been camped out at our football fieldhouse for the past couple of weeks. Met and visited with Dr. Zoran. They left this morning. The outfit they run is very impressive and I spoke with the Task Force teams we hosted and they said it is the best care their dogs get!

Hi - I have a group of LaJunta boys (2025 CITs, so rising high school sophomores) who want to go do clean up at camp. Do you have insight as to whether that is okay/appropriate? My older son's friends have been down, so I would guess it's okay … please let me know your thoughts if you see this message. Thanks!

Attended two funerals this weekend - one Friday, the other Saturday. Gut-wrenching. You just shouldn't have to go to a memorial service for an 8-year old girl.
You're from down South,
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

Reach out to Scott Fineske. He will let you know what they can contribute. Just make sure they have places to stay as no one is allowed to stay on campus grounds per the state yet. We have done a lot of heavy lifting already. Still a ton of cleanup to do. Also rebuilding the fencing. I supervised an outside group of volunteers a week ago on trash clean up. There is still a lot to do.

Thanks so much! We do have a place for the boys to stay. One of the other moms in our group reached out to Scott and Katie and had not heard back - I figured you would know. Thank you again.

Went to Kellyanne's funeral this Saturday.
It was very difficult but a really good message about spreading kindness for Kellyanne and all the girls. The celebration of life afterwards was amazing. There were thousands of balloons and kids running and playing everywhere. There were face painting stations, custom hats, and T-shirts, ice cream, cotton candy, and cookies and candy tables set up everywhere.
It was a true celebration of life.
To see the happiness on all the kids faces helped everyone to move forward and to live life to the fullest while you can.

Yes, the service was fantastic and very emotional. I was blown away by how well her cousin did with her remarks. And I'm an old guy that rarely cries but Wade had the tears welling up for me as well. He's a strong, strong young man and Malorie is blessed to have him by her side.

Wade has always been an amazing person.
He is the kind of coach that I want my grandson to play for. Their whole family has always been very kind and caring.

We emailed Cindy zastro at CLJ and she said they were accepting and thankful for volunteers. We went down there 2 weeks ago (both of my boys are campers in first term).

They've done so much work already, but i am sure there is plenty left to do. We plan on going back soon. La junta is planning on being open next summer.

So i would message Cindy. Let me know when yall go and I'll try to get my boys back down there.

Do you remember the name of the pastor from St. David's that spoke?

Couldn't remember her name. That would be a good one. She's probably not as swamped as the owners.

We probably met or crossed paths. Were you in the stables? There were a couple dads with their sons working in the stables that I talked to. We were doing a little welding.

Were the stables that damaged? They are way up that hill.

Was also curious about counselor vehicles, I couldn't recall where they all parked.

Did anyone see the Lauren Daigle piece on Fox this morning? It featured a Mystic girl honoring the girls, her friends. And a song.
Does anyone have a link?

Stables were totally under water and a rock wall blew out. I couldn't believe it got that high either. We welded a pipe wall there so now it has a breeze haha. Id guess the stables are 30-40ft higher than the river bank.

They broke open the fence with a tractor so the horses could get to high ground.

Counselor vehicles are parked on the hill about 50ft higher than the stables.
