Good to hear horses got out. I saw the saddles stacked on fence and wondered if they were trapped.

I saw several posts today that said someone had been found and they are waiting for dna results.
I have no idea how accurate those posts were. There are still two missing, right?

I have been thinking about your poor grandkids. How are they doing?

With the school year about to start, comments among our grandchildren often involve "who do you want for your teacher this year" and "who do you hope you get for classmates." Today, that was asked of my 5 year old grandson who lost his best friend in the flooding. His reply was "you know who I want most of all." But it cannot be, ever again.

It is just so tragic and horrible. I always pray for the friends and famillies of all of those lost and will include your grandson. My grandkids don't want to go back to school at all and since most of the teachers and staff from their elementary school were at the funeral, I think they will be very conscious of the trauma the summer has brought. We are all mourning but last week when we were listening to a muscian from Dallas in Durango, he dedicated a song to the flood victims. My son-in-law, who went to Kerrville on the 5th to look for her, broke into tears when the singer began to sing. It feels absurd that life can go on as before.

I thought about this scenario today when I started to see back-to-school posts and ads.
It's going to be so hard for friends going back and naturally searching the hallways or classrooms for their missing friend.
My prayers are with them. All of them.

Thank you so much for asking. They are doing ok but both cry at times and the middle one, boy who is 7, said today, ' I am so sad my friend died' and cried. We were in Durango last week and since Wynne was an adventurer, we prayed together several times when we were on hikes or by the river when we saw interesting bugs. We thanked God for her and asked that she be happy in Heaven.

Hi Trinity community,
I am writing on behalf of a NASA-led project that needs help connecting with individuals in the public sector in Texas recently affected by flooding.
We would like to build a hydrologic digital twin of the area that enables detailed simulation of the July flood event, in addition to modeling future flood risks under various conditions to assess the impact of possible flood protection measures. We are able to model both surface and subsurface features (e.g., stormwater drainage systems).
This is a publicly funded project, and all resulting data and models will be open-source. To ensure our work directly addresses local needs, we are seeking a stakeholder from a local, county, or state agency. We need to consult this stakeholder periodically to ensure the digital twin that we build is practical and valuable for their future planning.
If you know of anyone who might be interested, please reach out to me either here on facebook or via email ([ccampo@rss-hydro.lu](mailto:ccampo@rss-hydro.lu)).
Thank you!
