Good to hear horses got out. I saw the saddles stacked on fence and wondered if they were trapped.

Any update on Cile that anyone has seen? Praying hard for her family.

Was she found? I saw a post saying she was, but nothing official. I'm still thinking about this, I finally stopped crying daily, but my eyes still well up at times .

I am posting this because I feel such a connection with all of you. I awake in the morning and lift Cile and her family up in my prayers. I lay down at night and lift Cile and her family up in my prayers. My heart aches for her family that they do not have closure. My wife and I have been comforted with the knowledge that Our Lord knows what is best for her family and that gives us Peace. May Our Lord, Jesus, give Cile's family His peace that only He can give. God bless all of you who are praying for Cile and her family.
We have pink ribbons on our old oak trees, and we cannot take them off until Cile is found.

I saw several posts today that said someone had been found and they are waiting for dna results.

I have no idea how accurate those posts were. There are still two missing, right?

I also check several times a day for an update on Cile. At Wynne's funeral, her dad mentioned Cile's uncle who he had talked to while they were waiting.

Next week I'll share my son-in-law's experience waiting with the family. He is traumatized in a different way than the rest of us.

Prayers many times daily for closure for Cile's family and some kind of peace for all those now expected to live as though life is normal.

Yes…they were comments on a news post. Probably completely fabricated bc I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

Thank you so much for asking. They are doing ok but both cry at times and the middle one, boy who is 7, said today, ' I am so sad my friend died' and cried. We were in Durango last week and since Wynne was an adventurer, we prayed together several times when we were on hikes or by the river when we saw interesting bugs. We thanked God for her and asked that she be happy in Heaven.

With the school year about to start, comments among our grandchildren often involve "who do you want for your teacher this year" and "who do you hope you get for classmates." Today, that was asked of my 5 year old grandson who lost his best friend in the flooding. His reply was "you know who I want most of all." But it cannot be, ever again.

It is just so tragic and horrible. I always pray for the friends and famillies of all of those lost and will include your grandson. My grandkids don't want to go back to school at all and since most of the teachers and staff from their elementary school were at the funeral, I think they will be very conscious of the trauma the summer has brought. We are all mourning but last week when we were listening to a muscian from Dallas in Durango, he dedicated a song to the flood victims. My son-in-law, who went to Kerrville on the 5th to look for her, broke into tears when the singer began to sing. It feels absurd that life can go on as before.

I thought about this scenario today when I started to see back-to-school posts and ads.

It's going to be so hard for friends going back and naturally searching the hallways or classrooms for their missing friend.

My prayers are with them. All of them.

Thanks for your prayers and I will also pray for your grandkids as they go back to school and deal with this. I hope nobody takes this the wrong way because I know some on this thread have very personal losses of close family and I did not have that happen. But all this has impacted me more than I ever thought any event (other than the loss of close family) could. I keep seeing all the faces of the members of that family, several times a day. Recollection of voices, laughter, things said, conversations, hugs. Perhaps it is that the whole family, other than Jenna, were just taken away, all at one time. And we cannot get them back. I have tried keeping myself busier than normal, though not sure that has helped very much.

And I have thought a great deal about her and how this will likely never leave her mind, not for a single day. So I pray for her and always will.

Yes, same here. I have one daughter that teaches and a daughter in law that teaches and coaches so the back-to-school season is very much on the front burner. Keeping grandchildren so they can get their rooms ready and do the in-service stuff. I agree with you on searching for friends, where friends once were.

And I too will be praying for them all.

I pray constantly for these families. This is just devastating. I was in law enforcement for a couple of years and some of my time I served as a lake officer. We had a total of 24 drowings in my 2 years. While obviously very sad, they were all adults. This is so different. God bless these families. I pray for peace.

TexAgs - thank you so much for opening your forum to those of us that are not Aggies. I have two mystic campers and this has been my sole reliable source of information since the beginning of this horrible tragedy. I too have been praying and checking daily that Clie will be found and her family can move on from searching.

A post from my alma mater is what finally inspired me to make an account and post. I think this group likely might have some insight and contacts…

Hi Trinity community,

I am writing on behalf of a NASA-led project that needs help connecting with individuals in the public sector in Texas recently affected by flooding.

We would like to build a hydrologic digital twin of the area that enables detailed simulation of the July flood event, in addition to modeling future flood risks under various conditions to assess the impact of possible flood protection measures. We are able to model both surface and subsurface features (e.g., stormwater drainage systems).

This is a publicly funded project, and all resulting data and models will be open-source. To ensure our work directly addresses local needs, we are seeking a stakeholder from a local, county, or state agency. We need to consult this stakeholder periodically to ensure the digital twin that we build is practical and valuable for their future planning.

If you know of anyone who might be interested, please reach out to me either here on facebook or via email ([ccampo@rss-hydro.lu](mailto:ccampo@rss-hydro.lu)).

Thank you!

That was us!

We are thankful for yall who have real skills to help people recover from this tragedy. The Fineskes did a great job of giving us a way to help without real heavy equipment/ welding skills. It is going to be a long recovery as you know- i believe they plan on doing a la junta alumni work weekend this fall, but that hasn't been confirmed

In that case we talked.

Great having y'all out. It definitely made things go very quickly. We couldn't have done it without everyone.

This weekend we had a group moving pipe and driving and cutting posts for the new fence. Those are no easy tasks.

I'm very confused by this. A digital hydraulic model of the upper Guadalupe watershed already exists with FEMA's Base Level Engineering. Anyone can download the model directly from the FEMA website and run it on the free software developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The area most heavily affected by the flood occurred in a rural unincorporated portion of Kerr County, so there are likely few (if any) underground drainage systems. It's unclear why NASA would be involved in this project. But if the project is NASA led, it seems like they would be more than capable of connecting directly with the proper stakeholders. The company associated with that email only has an office in Luxembourg, so I'm not sure why that company would be involved. I'd like to think that whoever sent this had good intentions, but what they are saying doesn't actually make sense.

Today marks a month. I awoke this morning in prayer for all who are dealing with their loss. My thoughts immediately went to precious Cile and her family and friends. My household continues to pray for our Lord's Peace to cover them all.
My thoughts then went to the brave, persevering people who are still searching. It's as it always is in Texas in August, and that can be extremely hard for anyone searching or working on restoring their homes and land. Our hearts go out to them as well.
Our ribbons look worn, but when we see them we are touched and reminded of all who suffer and we look and say a prayer.
God bless to all who read, look, and continue to pray.
