Howdy,

With the corn harvest in full swing I figured this would be a great time to post this.

I am trying to start a small business to assist farmers in the Brazos Valley/Hockley/Waller areas with their hog issues. We have been very successful this year using a thermal drone along with our Pulsar optics to locate and eradicate large groups of pigs that are tearing up crops and disrupting harvest/planting.

We have really knocked down the numbers around some farms around the Brazos and thought it might be a good idea to post on here to see if there are any landowners dealing with issues that we can be of assistance to.

So the drone is for just to help you locate? Do you use the drone to drive them to you or what?

That's pretty cool. Hogs are a big time problem here in Georgia.

Both actually!

we usually use the drone to spot them then check the wind, and stalk up to them and set up our rifles on tripods and let her rip.

But we have also had some success using the drone to drive pigs out of tall corn into cut corn to be able to get shots off. Can be like herding cats sometimes though.

It's definitely become a great tool

...I don't have crops so the hogs aren't ruining my livelihood or anything. I just don't like all the new damage from rooting and wallowing that I see every time I go out to my recreational property and I worry about the food sources for whitetail... was curious about how fun it would be fly a thermal-equipped drone around to see where they're currently bedding down... and stalk them that way instead of baiting them all to one spot on the property in a figure 6/C corral type trap.

Hogs are a nuisance. These guys do it for fun. Some guy might have a problem and wanna pay a little something to defray beer and ammo costs and incentivize a road trip.

I see nothing wrong here.

I couldn't find any drone footage of locating hogs, just scope shots and drone footage of humans. Cool biz!

Great idea. Most of the rice farmers I know in our area spend thousands each year hiring helicopters to fly their fields and shoot the pigs. The one here a couple weeks ago flying our place was booked the whole week.

No beer for me unfortunately we do a lot of driving between properties and flying a drone. Not worth the risk

What guns are you running? The guy I do predator hunts with and I are both running AR10's in 6.5CM with 95gr Vmax. They are pretty terminal for us.
