Back in the '60s my grandfather had a Craftsman 'turn crank to load spring and release to start' mower.

I learned to cut grass with that thing.

Haven't seen one in 60 years.

Yup. Both we and my grandmother had one of those. I thought that had to be akin to the second coming when we first got it.

We have an old Briggs & Stratton engine mower from HD at the cabin that gets put through the damn ringer keeping grass low during the summer. Rocks, old sticks, cacti, thick grass. Never misses a beat!

Grandpa had one as well. Thing smoked like chimney never died. Grandma sold it for scrap when grandpa passed away. I was pissed, I wanted that mower.
