looking to book a crappie trip late Oct/early Nov...here's the deal..its me, wife, and son ( we fish and have boat)...but also sister, 11 y/o niece, and grandma. Now grandma gets around alright but hoping to find something that will allow her to sit and fish. Sister and niece have been on boats fishing with us and might do alright.

It's just a relaxing family deal to get everyone on the water and maybe bring home some good eats.

any recommendations?

Actually, Grem was going to be plan B down on the coast. With niece, sister, and grandma not being fishers I was thinking crappie would be something easy and fun for all. You should see grandma fight a small trout...both on the bays and arkansas river!! You'd think it was a whale!!

and we follow SK. Live up in Humble and have fished Luce bayou a decent bit and have run into him a few times out there. It's been a few years though and last we saw him was before he started guiding. He's really gotten into the livescope game and he runs a dargel (unless that's changed recently). I still watch his live chat every now and then. Not sure he has room for that many folks though and if he's scoping it might be 2 people at a time staring at the screen.

Trip. I made a few calls to guys I know that have been guides on Conroe. Waiting on some calls back.
Billy Mills used to be "the" bass and crappie guy on Conroe but he has kinda retired.
You might call April Plaza Marina and see who they recommend. They have a good handle on that.
I have some marine business colleagues that have been out with FishDude and said good things.
He guides out of a Pathfinder center console the last time I saw him.
If any of the other guys return my calls I'll let you know.

coworker lives up there and went with Billy a good while ago and said the same ....that's he's retired.
fish dude goes out of Stowaway and we've launched there some and seen him a bunch but never talked with him. I see him out crappie and cat fishing.

Billy was a very good friend and ran our boats back in the day. He was an air traffic controller at Houston Center by trade. He gave the wife and I a cool tour of the facility once and we would always talk airplanes. Always a very nice gentleman.

My one dealer that fishes and lives on Conroe said he knows a good guy that is a good friend that maybe would take you all for free. He is going to get back with me.
He also recommended fishdude.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity for you to trade up for a bigger boat so you can fit your family plus your mom, sister, and niece. Your old lady has said she's on board with it before.
