Recently invested in a new POF P415 Edge Rifle (pictured below). For the first time in 12 years since I joined the Navy, I finally have some adequate time to pursue some hobbies I've been wanting to do. Building a nice gun collection, and going to the range more often, is one of those hobbies.

I was looking for a new scope, and would love some suggestions. I'm not good with the gun lingo like a lot of y'all, but I'm learning. I know how to shoot them accurately and clean them, that's about it.

The MRO you put up would help to keep the weight off, and you could always add a magnifier if you one day decide you need the extra reach. I have a feeling that an MRO/magnifier combo would weigh less than an LPVO and mount. Lots of other good red dot sights out there too of course, but Trijicon has built an excellent reputation for toughness and reliability. The MRO is what I chose to put on my home defense PDW.

But an LPVO of some type would provide a bit more flexibility, especially if you are one to shoot very small targets at longer distances. There's a huge number of those things in many price ranges. Sig and Vortex for the lower price ranges, and Trijicon or Eotech at the medium range, and Leupold and Nightforce at the high end. You might also look at the Eotech Vudu 3-9, which is a very compact scope that uses a single-bolt mount, and also has the ability to mount a pistol red dot sight for the close-in stuff.

If you have some astigmatism, also consider an Eotech EXPS of some type (there are a lot of models). I find the reticles of these holographics to be a bit more pleasing to my aging eyes than a red dot. They do weigh a bit more than a small red dot sight, but they are battle-proven. This, along with a 3x magnifier, is what I use on my Steyr AUG, and I like it a lot. Color matched too...... ;-)

How far out do you want to shoot?

I have this Aimpoint Patrol Rifle Optic on my 5.56.

I have a Zeiss 3.5 x 10 on my 6.8 SPC and a Nikon 2x7 on my 300 Blackout.

I've been using the 6.8 as my deer rifle.

I forget what I have on my 300 blackout pistol but it's a cheaper red dot.

I've only shot the Aimpoint out to about 150 yds but that's not something I'd want to try to shoot a 4 inch steel plate with at that range.

If $$$ weren't an option I'd probably put a Trijicon ACOG on my 5.56

There are some reasonably priced red dot + magnifier combos out there. That way, you can spend more on the suppressor

Trijicon makes great LPVO scopes and you would not be disappointed. If you want to save some money and get a great LVPO, try and find a Meopta Optika 6 scope. They are awesome. I have the same one in the link below, and you won't find a better scope for the price.
