Beautiful country! Nice brown! And man, I may need one of those fishing hats that the guide has!

Today was sort of tough. This 70 year old man is pooped out from fishing but I'm expecting to get my 2nd wind. Today we fished the Mañuhuales River. It was a beautiful place but my casting took a nose dive today. Tornado will be another day though.

Here's a few pics from today including one of the prettiest rainbow I've ever caught. One more day here at Cinco Rios and the we head south to fish the Jeinimeni River on Saturday untilwr return next Wednesday.

Today was the last day to fish out of Cinco Rios Lodge. Tomorrow we head south to Chile Chico to fish the Jeinimeni River for big browns until Wednesday when we head home. Tonight the lodge prepared an asada for us with lamb and steak. Here's some pics from today.

My friend and guide, Kail, and I made a recon drive out to the Jeinimeni yesterday, stopping along the way for me to buy a new mate gourd in Chile Chico. Here's some pics.

Sure have enjoyed all the pictures of your journey. Appreciate your sharing. Hope you have a great remainder of your trip and safe return to home.

Today was our first day fishing on the Jeinimeni River. It's pretty physically demanding but not if you're with a good guide. Rob hooked a beast but fell as he was landing him, got slack in his line and lost him. Kail saw the fish and estimated it to be 30".

I was getting skunked but about 3:30 pm I landed a 24" brown. I was pleased. We have two more days on the Jeinimeni and I hope to get something bigger.

Yesterday was as challenging as the previous days. I didn't catch the monster brown that I'd hoped to catch but all in all it was a great 3 days fishing the Jeinimeni.

Last night the other fly fishermen and guides went to a local pizza joint for beer and pizza to celebrate our time fishing together. There was a good group of guys here. Steve and Barry, who traveled to Chile to celebrate the anniversary of their 50 year friendship, Derek DeYoung, the celebrated artist from Livingston, Montana and me and Rob from Atlanta.

This morning we'll leave Chile Chico and head to the Balmaceda airport to start our way home. It's been a great trip.

I made it to Santiago and I'm about to board my flight back to the U.S. When we left Chile Chico we had to go through Argentina because the ferry across Lago General Carrera was down for maintenance. Along the way we saw some guanacos and emus. The view of the mountains as we approached the Chilean border on the way to Balmaceda was spectacular.

This has been a great thread. I'm sorry to see it end.
