Lord it's bad this year. I clean my patio and pool only to be covered in this tree bukkake 15 minutes later...even my daily allergy meds can't stave off the effects.

Rant over.

Was blowing deck off around pool yesterday. Went to portion that blows into the wind a little and got yellow dust cloud in my face. Stopped right there

If we'd have some rain it would take of it to some extent. But my truck will be piss yellow for couple more weeks I guess

It's awful. I washed my truck and then a day later. It's got more pollen on it than Charlie Sheen's nose.

Worst I've experienced in a long time. I've had to up my med intake. Really need to get back on a weekly shot routine, but insurance has done insurance things.

Yeah, I was already struggling with a sinus deal and then my wife told me to go blow off the back porch as our kids were having friends over.

My head turned into a congested balloon very shortly afterwards. The allergy kicked so hard I basically sat on the couch to get slowly re-oriented over a period of hours.

Used to have a white truck. Now I have a yellow and green truck covered with tree schmegma...

I do a daily "face bath" in a bowl of ice water. It helps clear the eyes and help with the swelling. I also have a Neil-Med nasal irrigation setup. Like a neti-pot. Does help some. Not much, but some.

I'm blessed. Have always lived in the country since birth and I guess I developed an immunity to it. Never have allergies or anything and work in the pastures daily. The green pollen is a nuisance but it's over relatively quickly.
A good rain would be a blessing for sure.

I'm definitely slightly allergic to cedar and moderately allergic to ragweed. I might be allergic to post oak but it seems so much like a cold when I react during post oak pollen season that I suspect that it's a coincidental cold.

My probem is I grew up in the panhandle. Plenty of exposure to grass, dust, etc that gives me no issues.

But trees? My body does not understand tree pollen, and now that I'm in Central Texas, cedar commits attempted murder on me every spring.

Not hugely allergic to this pollen. Grass gets me worse, but still trying to figure out how to get rid of it all over everything with out getting a lung full. Might try to dig up covid masks.

Damn. That makes a lot of sense! I have a nephew that's exactly the same. He grew up in Pampa and lived there till he was 35. Moved to Kerrville and now he just about sneezes himself to death when the ash-juniper is doing its pollen thing.
His doc gave him some kind of nasal spray with a steroid in it…..it works but he won't use it cause he says it makes his ears ring.
Hope it doesn't mess with you too bad. Maybe you'll slowly become immune to it hopefully.

Some rain to knock it out of the air would definitely help. A record warm March pushed everything to bloom at once. But with no rain, the pollen just keeps getting blown around, and you get a cumulative effect as everything blooms.

well on my street each oak tree seems to be on it's own schedule on blooming, so for over week i've had the yellow cloud of pollen and oak flowers to deal with, I think i'll have to clean the gutters out again

if yall have pine trees that even worse

I grew up with it and it still jacks me up

I will say, doing a neti-pot twice a day does help me

I'll be washing it all off w/ a hose this weekend.

I've learned better...

I grew up in the Brazos Valley, spent lots of time outdoors, and it still kicks my butt every year. Meds, shots, neti pot, doesn't matter.

That was the only thing I appreciated about having to wear a mask everywhere, my sinuses caught a break that year.

I believe the yellow dust covering everything this time of year is mostly from the male pine cones on the pine trees. ...but if you're having allergic reactions, it's more likely from the oak trees- their pollen is also yellow, but not as powdery or as visible yet more humans react to it. Unfortunately, both are at their peak right now. Since both the yellow powder from pines and the oaks are both peaking right now, people associate their allergies with the pine powder though it's probably the oak their heads don't like.

Anyone know when it will be over with? Or at least most of it? I need to clean my back porch and outside furniture etc but I want to wait until the barrage is over with…

I have had allergies all my life. Had shots when i was younger and then was fine for quite a few years and then later had to have shots again. Stopped the shots as they made me worse the last time. I had a friend mention Singulair taken daily. I have been taking it for many years now and it has been wonderful. If I am sniffling more than normal from allergies are stopping up I will add a daily claritin or other and even a flonase at night. Generally the Singulair does the trick though.

Get me the heck back down in South Texas and I'd be fine. This central Texas stuff will kill you. I've started doing Cedar X drops under tongue starting in September through about February and it's not too bad.

It's certainly bad, still raining down. For some reason tho it's not making me as sneezy as in year's past.

Well let's hope the forecast for later this week is accurate then.... we need the rain anyway and this will be a bonus.

Allergies have never bothered me. Maybe an occasional flare up for a day or so...

But holy moses, they have been killing me this year.

Every time I go outside very long, I use the Neil-Med wash. It helps tremendously.

I was so masked up while mowing and landscaping this past weekend, I looked like Antifa doing my lawn.

There are zero pine trees around me. Plenty of Live Oaks, including two large ones in my front year. Our vehicles are covered in yellow pollen. Im calling BS on oak pollen being "not as visible."

Not killing me too bad. Had sinus surgery in the fall and it did wonderful things to my issues.

But really would like to clean up the yard and have it stay clean.

I'm of the opinion that at some nasty level of pollen, everybody gets overwhelmed. My neighbor has 3 enormous live oaks that turn our world yellow for 2 or 3 weeks each year, and my nose is like a faucet.

I guess I developed my dust tolerance as a teenager sweeping out grain bins on the farm and not wearing a mask. Only the Mexicans down at the grain elevator had masks. Since this wasn't a full time job I guess my dad didn't think we needed them. Oats and milo were the worst. I would pick black boogers out of my nose for days afterward.
