Too many farmers / ranchers in my family. Plus, our aquifers, lakes, and streams are stressed.
My family is full of farmers (my dad and brothers are all farmers, as are pretty much all extended family). My mom was here a week or so ago. She asked why I never mow my grass, and I had to explain that's what happens when it rains lol (they are all in the Midland Odessa area)
I have an in-law that farms and has everything on pivots, because they are in a once-in-a-lifetime drought where he lives. All the non-irrigated fields are near worthless right now.

My family runs drip irrigation in everything (mostly cotton). Droughts out there are really bad pretty much always. But they have surprisingly gotten a few inches this month from the storms
That's just a mom or mother in law doing their thing. My MIL used to visit and tell me she had concerns with my yard bc there were pine needles on the sidewalk. You know right after heavy winds or whatever. Every house with pine trees had them but somehow I was the one doing something wrong.
It rained during one of the harvests...wouldn't you know.

Agree w this. I know a lot of people love it but for some of us summer time is also about outside activities w our kids, golf, tennis, etc. This every day rain business is a bit much.

You must not recall the summers of 2022-2023 where we had 100 degrees constantly and both summers featured a 3 month stretch of 0 rain.

My San Augustine hasn't forgotten with the Wellborn water restrictions both years.
I will check the gauge when I get home, but when we left, the water was almost over our driveway. Its about a foot and a half to 2 foot drop from the road to the low point
We got 1 3/4 inches near Lowes in CS
2" in Castlegate. The lake at Victoria/Castlegate Dr overflowed all the way to the gazebos.
1.02" just south of campus.
1.25 inches Williams Creek
2 inches near BSW hospital on Rock Prairie.
Hard to catch the rain in a gauge while it's blowing sideways.
Left town on Saturday morning so not sure how much we got and when but came home yesterday evening with 3" in Castlegate 2 area.
Starting to regret getting a season membership at The Cove instead of monthly/day passes. Yesterday makes 6 times rained out now.

I got yesterday, got a drink and boom...lightning. Had to get out until they gave the all clear, got back in and boom, lightning again. We went and saw F1. Hang in there flyrod. They're doing a Christmas in July, which looks fun! See you there!

Not sure I want to see Santa in a speedo but that does sound potentially fun.
