That's a terrible take. You guys are overrating WIP. It's an adequate fill in show at best.

if the alternatives are the sweet spot and whatever other show did fill in...wip is leaps and bounds ahead of the others

Yes, it was good. The story about the prank calls to George got me thinking, who was behind it? George said the Musers were on mornings and it was the crew that followed them on air. Menefee wasn't around much more than a year if that, and was replaced by Chris Arnold I think. So was it Chris? Or was Rocco on after them for a bit? I could see Rocco doing that.

glad to see Im not the only one confused by that. He said delete, so it had to be late enough in to be digital and not tape like when they started

No, he said erased. I just went back and listened to it again. He said erased twice. George also mentioned it was 1996 or 1997. Arnold's LinkedIn says he was at the Ticket from June 1994 to Nov 1999 so likely it was him behind it.

Great podcast this morning.

Won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't listened but definitely the most insight to Gordon as a person. Still doesn't pull back the curtain on his full personal life but a lot more insight into what's shaped him.

Also a lot more insight into why they're still going. Jub used the term "pulling the wagon" which I took as being able to financially provide for his family.

I'm sure he's making more than anyone else in his lineage so it's tough to turn that spigot off since it will all trickle down at some point.

Gordo referenced the same thing related to providing for loved ones but also referenced loving radio and needing the structure in his day to day life due to what was referenced earlier.

Sounds like Craig will be ready to check out as soon as he feels his daughter will remember what he did for a living.

The other interesting thing was how close their dads were to everyone. It makes sense hearing how close they've been, but interesting to hear each of their dads had a relationship with everyone.

Even if Gordo was pornographic…

Yes it was clear it was an off air friend of a host making the call.

I think it had to be Rocco arranging it. He was there 97-99 and it sounds like this happened around 97. Chris Arnold was way too chill and generic to arrange this kind of prank. But Rocco was out there and they also all hated him - this would fit into the long list of on and off air reasons as to why. It was also Gordo getting into it with him on the Rant that was the end of Rocco. There's a lot that fits

Has George ever mentioned being a grandfather on the air before? I had kind of assumed he was but I'm not sure he's ever talked about it. When he referenced it during this week's episode was the first time I think I've ever heard him talk about having grandkids.

I think it's a fairly new thing. Wouldn't surprise me if it happened during this sabbatical that they're on.

I feel at some point in this thread someone found a family picture of Gordo, his wife and 2 or 3 kids. They are pictured driving around in a red convertible sports car. This thread is to massive to go searching but if someone remembers or did I make this up?

Musers podcast is awesome. They are the best and this is a must listen weekly.

First episode that had Ads. I figured that would be coming and it will only get worse. The beauty of the first few being ad free and uninterrupted was amazing. They are going to monetize this more and more as the audience grows...

I like when Ham casually drop some nugget about food or whatever and it causes a stop down. Yesterday when Monty was recounting his days at a summer camp. Ham then chimed in

H: I never went to camp for the same reason I don't travel outside the country. I don't know what I would eat or if they would have food for me
M: Luckily they weren't feeding us escargot. It was beanie weenies
H: I'm afraid it would be turkey sandwiches
M: Wait, is a turkey sandwich exotic to you?

Ham's parents likely ****ed him over so hard. Never give in to the kid on diet. Eat the food we cook or you'll go hungry. I get it there are certain things you cave on so your child doesn't starve but only chicken strips is way over that line.

I have yet to see any my children actually follow through in skipping a meal. They're all talk until their siblings get ice cream.

GREAT to have the musers back.... by 7:30 they were already talking about needing another week off and not ready for being on air. lol

But it just felt right personally. Whew. I survived.

DAY ONE P1 here and the Musers were always my fave. When they are gone I won't listen any more.

Especially since he asked about the cartoon for which he is doing the voice of Jerry...followed by a question about Fake Jerry on The Ticket.

Actually pretty proud of Jerry for answering the questions in a good-natured way. And the cherry on top was a clearly not-amused Brad Sham bringin' it back to sports immediately afterward.
