Okay last watch for a while I swear. I stumbled across this after the article was recommended by Google and had to have it. A mechanical altimeter complication? How cool is that? Read the article, this thing is an amazing work of engineering for fairly cheap. I should get it sometime next week

You and I have different ideas of "fairly cheap."

Couldn't get a good shot of it but KU's coach appeared to be rocking the Batman Submariner yesterday. Although it looked like the bezel was all blue with the black face. Not sure if any of y'all caught it.

That must have been it. Looked good but I'm not up to speed on all the nicknames except for Batman & Hulk. Looked up the Cookie Monster and that was it because the bezel was a brighter blue like KU's colors vs the darker blue and half & half bezel on the Batman.

Batman is also a GMT whereas the Cookie Monster is the submariner. That's a white gold sub.

Just a cool 48K or something like that

Gotcha. Like I said, I'm not up to speed on all the variations as I prefer Omega. And it wasn't like I got a close up. Just enough to see the black face and blue bezel.

Unless Mark Mangino was on the sidline, I doubt it was a Cookie Monster.

What's the consensus on Henry Archer? I've been looking for a watch that matches our dance studio color for competition season and found a few from them.

I have one. For the price point, it's solid. I get compliments on it more than I do my "designer" watches. When you put it side by side with a high end watch, there's some clear difference levels in the details…but again, solid for the price point.

I love my Henry Archer. Not an on-wrist pic, but this is the model I have. Same deal… it gets a lot of compliments. Upgraded the bracelet and ended up dealing with Henrik (Henry) directly. Great experience. Would love to get another at some point.

I'm asking for a Henry Archer meteorite watch for Christmas ... I've been eyeing their stuff for a while now. I love their aesthetic

Got a Zelos Hammerhead diver with the Muonionalusta dial a couple of years back, seemingly before the meteorite dial thing exploded in popularity. That thing is a tank of a watch.

I know nothing about Henry Archer but if they are on par quality with a CW then I take a HA all day long over CW. Those are beautiful looking watches for the price.

Christopher Ward uses Swiss movements ( mostly Sellita). Henry Archer uses Miyota movements. Not quite on par , but decent, inexpensive movements

Yeah, I was going to say that CW is Swiss Made and carries that premium.

It sounds like Henry Archer is multi-origin (Hong Kong, Japan, Germany...) so won't be nearly as expensive as CW.

FTAC. Got a buddy looking to land a Rolex land dweller. Not sure if any availability since it's new. He's hoping to be around MSRP but not the resale markup. Possible?

The hell does this mean? Do we now have Super Mario Brothers references for watches? I hope not because it already makes me insane with the number of absurd nicknames and esoteric references that require a GD handbook to keep up with for watches.
