All the retail providers are basically the same. The best thing to do is to guess at your usage at a site like TexasPowerGuide.com and choose the cheapest plan. (They ask for a $10 donation to take all the information from PowerToChoose.org and aggregate it, or you can do it yourself for free by plugging in all the values from the Facts Labels into a spreadsheet. The plans are pretty easy to guess from their descriptions.)

I am also up for renewal this week, and the 13 month plans are the best buy for my usage. I usually try and get the longest plan with the lowest rate I can that also has a relatively low cancellation fee in case prices drop a lot, but in this case, the savings on the 13 month plan outweighed the early termination fees on the 24-36 month plans.
