I was mowing the yard this morning as I saw my across the street neighbor back out of his driveway and into my new-to-me 2023 Navigator Reserve. Cracked the driver side headlight and bent/stretched/pushed in the front grille. The neighbor has Pure Insurance, which I've never heard of.

I plan on taking it to the stealership since it's not my dime, unless someone has a better recommendation for Houston/West Houston.

How much do you think it's going to cost?

Should I ask for diminished value on what is ostensibly cosmetic damage? If so, how much?

Won't matter the cost, Pure, as said above is a high end carrier. You'll be taken care of although it stinks getting your new car hit for sure.

Nope. He attempted a 90-degree turn in reverse. He told me he was distracted by an oncoming car and didn't check his mirrors.

Yeah. Parts are mainly the bumper ($1000) and left headlamp ($1300). The labor appears largely tied to paint, including blending paint all the way back to the doors.

Absolutely insane.

Why do they need to blend? Those look like hard lines. I'm tough on tailgates so I tend to buy them really cheap on Facebook marketplace and have them painted to match. I drop the new and old off at my paint guy, and he uses some device to match the paint, then he does some test samples and nails it. I just pick up the new gate, drop it on the truck and I'm on my way. I've never seen any difference in the metal flake paint at any time or angle that would lead me to think blending was needed. When do they blend here and why?

You need a completely new radiator shutter for that? Damn.

I'm not sure why it would need to be blended, but as long as it turns out good, I won't quibble. Pure approved it in less than 24hrs. I have been impressed with their service thus far.
