Hi Y'all,

I'm toying with the idea of a used Raptor for my daily driver. Are there years of production to stay away from because of mechanical issues? Any clear good years?

TIA

Get a 2020 or later. The cam phaser issue that Ford has with most Eco-boost engines was fixed in mid 2019 I believe. Definitely fixed for 2020.

Same but 130K. Fully tested for days at speed around Terlingua. 6.2L V8.

2019 got live valve shocks
2020 fixed cam phasers
2021 got 5 link rear (smoother and earlier models need periodic (75K miles) leaf spring replacement)
2022 fixed CDF drum in 10 speed

All years need a shock rebuild on 50K mile intervals.

IWEs, turbos, and entire engines are all known failure points on any year.

Everything I've said only applies to gen 2 or greater.

I've had my 2019 from 51K miles to 73K and have had no problems (knock on wood!). I love the way out drives and rides. Goosetune is required if you want it to operate like it should. The factory tune is absolute garbage!

Yup - that's correct. 2020 here and no cam phaser issues whatsoever.

I got tired of my other cars pretty quickly. Have had the Raptor for years and have no plans to ever get rid of it. Checks every box there is to check… except parking in a tight garage.

Is it certified pre-hooned, or is that just a given with these things?
