Dually Wheels

I have a Ford Transit camper van. Extended length dually. I have an extended length air chuck so I can reach the inside tire. Unfortunately, the driver's side tire's air stem position is blocked by the outside wheel. The only way for me to check air pressure manually or air up/down the inside tire is to remove the outside tire. That's a pain in the rear.

What type of valve stem extenders would y'all recommend?

I got a new F350 dually work truck in May, it tells me the pressure of every tire so I don't have to check them myself. That would be the first thing I would look for. Not sure when Ford started doing that.

The other thing I would do rotate the outside tire, there should be a spot where the inside valve stem lines up to be in a hole in outside wheel. The rocket scientists at the tire shop probably didn't know that when they put the wheels on.

D is correct. The wheels are clocked wrong. Dual wheels should be clocked so the valve stems are opposite each other and the inside one should be accessible through a hole of the outside one.

That said, some aftermarket aluminum wheels with a high count of smaller holes - like the Alcoas on a Ram - can make it tough to get your chuck lined up on the inside valve stem if the valve stem doesn't have the right shape/length.

Thanks!

My valve stems are opposite. I have Method wheels and they have larger egg shaped holes alternating with smaller oval shaped holes. The driver's side ended up on the smaller hole. I'll ask them to remount the tire and pay attention to the hole size.

You don't need the tires remounted if that's what you actually mean. Just jack the vehicle up pull off the outter wheel and rotate it until the holes line up. The valve stem can only go in one spot.
