Buyer beware! These things get as low as 12 mpg.

I think it's good to allow price discovery by dealers on BAT. The OEMs should sell them all online until demand reaches msrp then ship to dealers. But the OEM should be forced to use the money over MSRP to make badass things. Keep these kinda projects alive.

Not an aging Ferrari. Just another Chevy.

is it real price discovery with only a single available? Put 100 up and see where the market goes.

The selling dealer notes that a coolant pipe was replaced under warranty ahead of the sale.

this is what you get for your 400k with 3mi on the odo

I agree. My point is it's unusual for these special cars to be sold unregistered on BAT by a dealer. Put em all up.

First line of the listing: " This 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X 3LZ is a Quail Silver Limited Edition convertible that was specified with approximately $60k in options, some of which include the ZTK Performance Track Package, the Carbon Fiber Aero Package, 20 and 21 carbon-fiber wheels, and carbon-fiber trim that accents the Sky Cool Gray- and Medium Ash Gray-trimmed interior "

On a Porsche, $60k in options gets you metallic paint and a carbon fiber remote fob. Will be interesting to see where this one ends up.

This just pisses me off, but I'm not sure where my anger should go.

So Chevrolet puts a limited run of a high end car. I have no problem with that. I think I'm pissed at the dealership that managed to get an allocation and is using it for their own profit. Chevrolet set a price (that may have well been below what the market was willing to pay) but I don't think that should be the dealerships money to make.

Granted I also don't know how GM/Chevy handed out the production slots...

People probably weren't ready to walk into a Chevy dealer and see a $150,000 market adjustment added on top of the sticker that's almost $300k to start with. But Internet buyers... sure.

Reminds me, last weekend, I was out with my Class of 2017 daughter and I saw an old Red, probably 2004 Thunderbird. She thought the car looked weird and I told her that when we were living in Denver, the local Ford Dealer was putting a $30,000 markup on them when they were new.

In the case of this rare Corvette, I think it will probably hold up over time.

But to think that in 2004, somebody would have paid $70k for a $40k Ford Thunderbird, seems silly now.

This is why manufacturers should be selling direct to consumer. The dealership model is a ****ing joke in 2026.

You think an OEM, who would be selling through a sales subsidiary by the way under your "model" -- but that's for another discussion, is going to leave profit on the table if the market allows for it?

I don't.

It works for Tesla. There's zero reason why others can't do it their way save for crony capitalism laws to protect dealers.

$452k was the final hammer price, so "just" $162k over sticker. I wonder how many of these limited edition versions are actually going to get driven.

The ZR1 has held up well in all generations of corvettes. As long as they don't mass produce them they'll hold up. That said, they hold up well to MSRP. Not sure how $165k over will hold up.

Edit to add an additional "hold up" for a total of 5.
