I've had it at the end of the night for the last four days. Watery. Loose BMs. No stomach ill feelings. Just gas pain in the lower intestine before I it becomes what I just described. I've experienced some gurgling in the upper region ahead of it. Thurs day it was an all water and small loose bm. Friday the same. Saturday was more solid but still water. Last night was normal bm. Then loose with no water. Then another of water and very loose.

Starting to feel gas again today.

I'm not sure it's getting better or, not and Thursday at 4pm is the soonest I can get in with my doctor. Any thoughts?

What are you eating? Any changes from normal diet recently? How much fiber?

Are you tracking everything that you're eating? See if there's any correlation to what you're eating and what symptoms you're having.

Any recent travel or possible exposure to poorly cooked food, bad water supplies?

Any changes in stress? Changes in exercise patterns/intensity?

My diet is the (Mrs Dash) baked chicken and lettuce to start the day. 1 hour later.. 3 egg whites, avocado toast with broccoli/cauliflower/carrot medley. 2 hours later... Fuji Apple. 2 hours later.. half cup of Oatmeal w/chia seeds. 1.5 hours later fruit smoothie (half banana, apple. blueberries, Greek yogurt, water, chia seeds, flax seeds). 2hours later.. chopped up baked chicken and veggie medley. two hours later.. chopped up baked chicken and veggie medley. 2hours.. cup oatmeal/chia seeds.

I eat the same thing everyday. Religiously. For 5 years. I cheat here and there.

Ok. It's day 8. Loose bowels still. Went to the doctor and he seems stumped. Gas pain only around the time I normally poop. At night after work. Some gas pain this time. Far less liquid. But day 8?

It is possible that you need to back off the fiber for a few days or weeks. The cheeseburger comment may be correct.

How old is your doctor? genuine question because I feel like the younger ones don't have as much "street smarts" as the older ones do.

I had a similar situation about 5-7 years ago where I went in after about 10 days. My 60+ year old doctor told me to eat some yogurt. "Greek, not that frozen *****" I started buying HEB Greek yogurt and eating a cup a night and it was gone in about 2 days. I still have it regularly. like a couple of times a week. I won't say I never have problems but it cleared me up quickly.

Take a walk on the wild side and ditch at least that last round of Chia seeds. I would actually cut back by at least half on the Chia and see if it helps. I bet it does. Yeah, you have been doing this forever with no problembut your body has decided for some reason that the Chia overload must stop.

I'd rather be vegan.

Seriously. Kudos to the OP for eating healthy but mix it up a little. There are other healthy foods out there. Variety is the spice of life.

Not to change direction, but when I've had irritable bowels/diarrhea it almost instantly quits after smoking a bit of cannabis. It won't change the dietary issues if that's causing it but literally:
*puff*
Poof, pain/diarrhea gone.

You don't have to get high, but I liked smoking a whole bowl when i was smoking.

I've gone through something similar where I stuck with the same healthy foods every single day, then suddenly got hit out of nowhere with diarrhea for about a week. It was weird because there weren't any clear triggers, no changes in what I ate. For me, sometimes it's a random gut reaction or a bit too much fiber at once. Honestly, I had to back off some seeds and veggies for a bit, and just keep it simple until things settled. Probiotics and Greek yogurt like someone else mentioned definitely seemed to help calm things down faster than expected.

If you haven't seen it already, there's actually a pretty in-depth article about diarrhoea that breaks down a bunch of common causes and natural treatment approaches: https://mfm.au/digestive-health/diarrhoea. Picked up some tips there that made sense for my situation.

About thirty years ago, I developed a diarrhea that I couldn't shake. The doctor wasn't of much help.

I went to a semi-vegetarian diet (mostly vegetarian but occasionally some fish or maybe a turkey sandwich) and it stopped within a day. After about two years on the semi-vegetarian diet, I gradually went back to eating like before and the problem never repeated.

Of course, there is no indication that the problem I had is the same as yours.

Well, hopefully 4 days of diarrhea didn't turn into 4 years of diarrhea.

A few years ago I was mountain biking on a particular warm day and started getting nauseous and then throwing up. I think it was heat exhaustion. I couldn't keep anything down. Had to have someone come pick me up, as I couldn't drive home. If I even drank water it came right back up. I smoked some that evening and within a short period I was able to eat and drink again. Worked wonders.
