No idea how these guys will handle 5 days of rest lol. Especially if he thought he was going to pitch on normal schedule until 24-36 hours ago.

Especially concerning given that the scapula is a bone. I would think that a bone spasm would have to be pretty painful

As a resident MD... I'm sure a pitcher/coach calling it a scapular spasm... you have questions like... infraspinatus...or teres...

I'm guessing it was really a muscle around the scapula...

Truth is... with the past 2 games, Garcia could have said anything to get out of the game.

Certainly not an actual bone spasm...not sure how that would work. Maybe a levator scapulae spasm. Or just a spasm in that area.

Would be funny if it was the levator scapulae. Then he'd basically have the whiplash jokes about earlier

So... well into a victory fig margarita... I'm incredibly excited about this team.

Joc got a freaking hit. 1 for 5, .200 raised his BA.

The new RPs did what you want. New team, back-to-back games. 4.0 IP. 0ER. Trust with the manager. The D landed.

Kelly you could tell wanted to show well. He made a silly mistake, but was solid.

We are 1GB from entering WC3 and have and incredible P staff to close the season.

I see the momentum growing with this team as they finish the season.

We could bury NYY when they come to town.

Ok... time to refresh my marg.

I was being facetious. Subscapularis muscle, maybe? But yeah, a bone is not capable of a spasm.

I don't know why they're saying he's had trouble locating his fastball. It's easy to find if you check the outfield bleachers.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Been out of town. Finally saw the transactions.

Rocker, Latz, and Boushley.

A little surprised by Latz, but we have too many LH RP. He has been pretty solid for the Rangers and I'm interested in what they told him. Expect a Sept callup? Let's get get Gray and Mahle moved sonyou can return? Go get some more GS and see you in ST?

Rocker isn't a surprise. It probably came down to a conversation about IP and not wanting to move him to the grind of RP, if unnecessary.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sent Latz down and tried him out as a starter. His most successful outings at the MLB level have all been extended to 3-4 innings. It could be a way to improve his value too.

On rocker we've all discussed that he has development still to do.
Jimtim1216

My hope with Rocker is that he takes what he has learned in the bigs and applies it and dominates.

Like so many young SPs, the question is can he make it through a 3rd time.

I think Latz has solidified his experience as a MLB pitcher. To think we could have 3 homegrown SPs anchor our rotation in '26 would completely dispel the idea we can't develop pitching.

I like Latz and how he has matured.

Are they dunzo?!

Tomorrow, they have a 32 RP with 14 career GSs going against Miami.

TBD/Arrighetti coming back from the 60IL to GS on Tues and then Brown on Wed.

For NYY, they have Gordon, Valdez, TBD.

Wouldn't surprise me if they bump Brown to the NY series and take their chances. More likely they take the W against Miami with Brown getting the start. A win is a win, I suppose.

OH... and they traded for a P from Miami. A 28 year old RP who has spent 2025 in AAA and hasn't made his MLB debut, yet.

Gee, one of their two decent MLB pitchers had the start today. But you know how it is with Framber...

Meanwhile, the Round Mound of Beantown, Lucas Giolito, is three hitting them through 7.

I dunno - his OPS+ this year was -49.

We need DeGrom to bounce back today and set the tone. Rough stretch coming up.

Been in the rough stretch for a while and about to come through it.

I'm glad the Rangers didn't trade Freeman. Crim wasn't a big loss IMO. I looked at Freeman's stats this season at AAA - he's hitting .322 in 342 ABs, and get this….he's only struck out 36 times (29 walks).

And it wouldn't be one of my posts if I didn't bash Justin Foscue. The human waste of space is hitting a robust .257.

Curious if Carter is out more than the 10 days if you might see Freeman back.

Evan said he had to stay down til Tuesday or something like that. I wouldn't be shocked to see him back soon.
DallasAg 94

Don't forget Sept call-ups. Sept 1 each MLB gets to add 2 players.

For the Rangers, I'd predict Latz and Freeman, if they don't return before then.

Freeman is a similar player as Haggerty, so I'm thinking they may want Freeman to continue to get as many ABs as possible.

Osuna brings attitude and energy. Something Bochy seems to like from him.
sburg2007

Same lineup as yesterday. Wish we could get haggerty in there.

Crim got a brief 1 week+ look and didn't do much. I was hoping to see him get a second chance the this season rather than Foscue getting his second shot this season (plus Forscue had an extended look last season). Anyway, best of luck to Crim in Colorado. Seemed like a good guy in his interviews.

And now they go to the Marlins who have won 4 straight and 8-2 in their last 10.

And they face Alcantara, whom they tried to trade for.

Again, deGrom has to be able to get guys to see another pitch. And right on que he throws the changeup that disappears. More please.

And there it is again. MORE.
KT 90
How long do you want to ignore this user?
that was a weird stretch where deGrom threw six straight balls. But he regrouped and got out of it with no damage.
