Elko can only build his legacy if he can stop this non-sense. Star players getting arrested is a yearly thing. It will test his leadership, but he needs to succeed. This could and probably will turn into a nothing burger, but the fact it has happened means Elko needs to teach responsibility and get into these guys heads with self discipline. Can't afford any injuries or suspensions from our key players.
This is nothing and typical of CSPD off season arrests.

I'd suggest keeping 100 or so college aged boys/men completely out of trouble is no easy task even in the best run programs.
Suspend him for a game and have his pay docked the equivalent amount (by whoever writes his NIL checks). If these idiots want to be professionals, make them pay the same consequences when they miss a game.
Alpha males do stupid **** all the time. The prefrontal cortex is not fully mature until around age 25. Not an excuse, just a fact. Hope he can figure it out quickly.

No doubt. But yearly drug and domestic violence, etc. isn't a good trend. Especially with key players. Some coaches do it very well though. But I agree it sounds like an insurmountable task. Would be nice to have summer without a headline.halfastros81 said:

moss is a star player, he has been injured so a little more rest won't hurt him per say but if he comes down hard suspends him for the first game and then he can't start the second it sends a message to the team.
he probably wouldn't have played a ton in the first game and might not have started anyways due to coming back from an injury. but perception wise i think it would send a message to the team and even to recruits.

Texas A&M running back Le'Veon Moss was arrested by College Station Police Sunday morning on a charge of disorderly conduct, according to police and jail documents.
He was released later Sunday after posting a $300 personal bond. Disorderly conduct is a Class C misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of a $500 fine.
According to the probable cause statement, Moss "assumed a fighting posture towards an unidentified man" and threatened to assault him.
At approximately 1 a.m., a College Station Police officer observed Moss shouting at an unidentified man. The unidentified man did not attempt to escalate the situation, according to the report.
After the arresting officer got in between Moss and the man, the football player continued to shout at the man while craning around the officer. According to the police report, Moss told the man "something to the effect of '[Expletive], I'll bat the [expletive] out you boy!'"
Because Moss continued to shout at the man, not heading the warnings from the officer and his friends, he was put in handcuffs, according to the report.
The arresting officer also witnessed Moss "speaking aggressively" to strangers who were attempting to talk to a female in his group, the document stated.
If this is true, Mike Elko should suspend Moss for the first game. He needs to instill discipline and responsibility into his players. We can't afford injuries and suspensions to our key players.

Police said they, along with Moss's friends, attempted to stop Moss from making more threats to harm the stranger and de-escalate the situation, but he continued to do so and was eventually arrested.
The report did not say what may have provoked Moss to threaten the unidentified man, but it did say Moss was seen "speaking aggressively" with other people in the area who were attempting to talk to a female who was with him.
Another person with Moss was also arrested for attempting to interfere with officers as they were taking him into custody. Ledarius Jones was arrested and charged with Interference with Public Duties.
