If Reed is in command enough to bait defenses like that, we're in excellent shape. Last season he absolutely had a tell, I think we're just hoping that he was able to iron that out of his technique.

OL have long been accused of tipping run/pass based on stance, even up to HOF level players. And to a man they all laugh off the social media warriors who think they cracked some code of which they have no comprehension of understanding. So much more goes into a successful offensive play other than if a team feels confident a run or a pass is coming. And often times purely based on pre game film study of tendencies/down and distance. The opposing team will know with high confidence on at least a third or half of the plays every game anyways.

Should we always try to be as consistent as possible in lining up? Sure. Is the tip (Marcel, RB stance or arm positioning, OL stance, wr aggression in stance etc) the end all be all every time 100%? Of course not. Should the offense still be able to beat the defense if they execute a play properly even if the defense knows run or pass (and nothing else)? Yes.

What you need are good, creative calls in key situations of games to keep defenses off balance. The rest is who prepped the best and who executes the best.

Would seem to me if defense new they could forgo pass coverage and totally play the run and vice versa, it would be a pretty big advantage.

Just watched the first series of UF and second half of LSU. Reed tips run/pass with his presnap foot alignment on all but three or four plays. Those 3-4 plays were a middle screen, x2 rpo, and one pass-action predetermined screen to Moss. When Reed was dropping back it was 100% stagger stance.
